Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitchel Stanley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson has chosen The Movement as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitchel Stanley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Peterson! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Peterson misses and Stanley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Peterson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Stanley is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Peterson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Peterson's back! Peterson wants to escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stanley struggling to keep hold of the position.
Peterson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Stanley gets his way!
Peterson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Stanley wants to control but Peterson is keeping busy. Stanley looking for the choke from the back. Stanley controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanley struggling to keep hold of the position.

Stanley slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Peterson is trying to get back to his feet but Stanley has full control of the position and if anything, Peterson has just worked his way into a worse spot. Stanley trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanley looking to break Peterson's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Peterson remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Stanley will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Peterson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Stanley.
Peterson wants to control his opponent's hands but Stanley gets his hands free. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Stanley's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Peterson trying to control the position but Stanley manages to sink in the hooks. Peterson tries to roll but Stanley sticks to his back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Peterson trying to control the action but Stanley just sinks the hooks in. You can see the frustration on Peterson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Stanley looking for the choke from the back. Peterson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Stanley's guard. Nice work there by Peterson.
Stanley working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Peterson. Peterson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Stanley wants to stand and escape but Peterson is having none of it. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Stanley holds on and takes a little breather. Peterson with a nice head shot there. Stanley might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Stanley wriggles free and stands up. Peterson has managed to clinch.
Stanley fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Peterson gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Peterson stops Stanley from getting back to his feet.
Stanley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Stanley is breathing heavily. Peterson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Stanley on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Nice strikes from Peterson there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Mitchel Stanley will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Peterson gets a takedown into half guard. Stanley taking some punishment here, with Peterson in his half guard. Peterson missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Stanley is looking to improve his position.
Peterson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Stanley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Stanley tries to get to full guard but Peterson has control of the leg. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stanley is trying to control but can't.
Peterson winds up and cracks Stanley with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Stanley is trying to stand up here but Peterson is controlling him well. Peterson lands strikes from half guard.
Stanley is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Stanley! More strikes land and this one is all over! Peterson jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
