Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tat Moh! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tonton Hong! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hong fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Moh. Moh scoring well with a low kick there.
Hong throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hong throws a wild body kick that Moh sees coming a mile off. Hong swings and misses with a hook to the body.
We've been hearing reports that Moh has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Moh drops his hands momentarily and Hong takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
It looks like Tat Moh has been cut. Hong throws a right hand that misses
and Moh counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Moh is trying to control the action in half guard but Hong is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Moh trying to pass the guard but Hong defending well. Moh wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hong keeps working. Moh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hong is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Moh perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Hong is trying to get back to half guard. Hong has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Hong avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Moh. Hong tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hong tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Moh easily slips into full mount! Moh thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Moh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hong can do to turn this around? Moh throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hong is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Hong is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tat Moh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hong distracts Moh with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hong preventing the sweep. Hong seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Moh working a defensive guard but Hong passes into half guard.
Moh wants to control the action here but instead Hong manages to pass to full mount! Moh tries to reverse the position but Hong maintains control. Moh is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hong with shots to the head and body - Moh looks very uncomfortable down there. Hong can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Moh is looking to escape. Hong lands a big shot there that rocks Moh but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Moh is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Moh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Moh wants to get back to full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Moh looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Hong passes to full mount! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Moh tries to reverse the position but Hong maintains control. Tonton Hong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Tat Moh's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Tat Moh's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Hong checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hong is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Moh checks a leg kick nicely. Moh scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hong pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Moh fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hong avoids it really well and circles away. Nice cross by Hong. Moh keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Moh. Hong shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Moh half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. The fighters circle momentarily. Hong darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Hong swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Moh scores with a jab to the body. Tonton Hong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Moh fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hong looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Moh tries to score with a low kick but Hong moves his leg out of the way.

Hong walks into a straight right hand from Moh. Moh throws a hook to the side of Hong's head but Hong sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Moh misses with a hook. Hong throws a fast counter high kick but Moh manages to duck under it in time. Moh pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Tonton Hong seems to be getting the better of the standup. Moh lands the left hand. Moh throws a low kick but Hong moves out of range easily. Hong lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Hong misses with a hook. Hong motions for Moh to come forward. Hong throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Moh misses with an uppercut. Moh lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Moh blocks a leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Moh. Those never looked like landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A cross from Moh lands. Good leg kick by Moh there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Moh looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hong slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Moh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hong swivels though and keeps the full guard. Moh being controlled here momentarily. Moh postures up in Hong's guard and throws a big left but Hong blocks it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hong tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hong avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Moh wants to control from the top but Hong keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Moh feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hong's calf. Moh throws a leg kick and Moh takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Jeez, Tat Moh's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Moh shoots in looking for a takedown. Hong tries to sprawl out of it but Moh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hong looks like he wants to counter punch here. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tat Moh. That's going to take a lot out of him. A left lands for Hong. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A telegraphed right hand from Hong misses the target. Moh throws a nice inside leg kick. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but Tat Moh did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. The cut man is working on Tat Moh's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Moh shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Moh was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Moh is putting a hurting on Hong here, landing some big shots from side control. Moh creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Hong keeping his opponent close. Hong tries to improve position but can't.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Hong looks to score with a jab to the body but Moh is just out of range. Moh jabbing away but nothing is landing. Moh has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hong is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Moh. Moh wants to control but Hong postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Moh is trying to get back to half guard. Hong looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Moh fails with a takedown attempt. Hong tries to bum rush Moh with a series of wild strikes but Moh uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Hong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moh.
Hong now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Hong keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Hong tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Moh was well out of range. Poor timing from Hong. Moh appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Moh tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Moh somewhat. Tonton Hong has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hong's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Moh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hong was well out of range. Poor timing from Moh. Hong throws a leg kick but Moh sees it coming and checks it nicely. Hong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Moh. Hong jabs Moh right on the nose. Moh blinks but takes it well. Hong throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hong throws a body kick that misses. Nice defenses there by Moh. Hong loads up on a big right hand but Moh slips the punch. No joy there for Hong, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A swing and a miss from Moh. Hong is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Moh buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hong throws a leg kick that misses. Hong connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Moh momentarily.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tat Moh's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 5, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Tonton Hong! Tonton Hong is the new light heavyweight champion! Tonton Hong spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. The defeated Tat Moh had this to say: 'Defeat is a state of mind - no one is ever defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality.'.
