Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rainer Varvaskoukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caol Uno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rainer Varvaskoukku could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Caol Uno's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 11 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rainer Varvaskoukku! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Caol Uno! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Uno throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Varvaskoukku appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Varvaskoukku shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Uno as he jumps to the side. Uno dives in for a single leg takedown but Varvaskoukku sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Varvaskoukku lands with a shot to the body. Varvaskoukku ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A big right from Uno misses. Rainer Varvaskoukku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Varvaskoukku swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Uno! But no joy. Varvaskoukku misses with a double jab.
Varvaskoukku looks for a takedown but Uno sprawls well. And Uno tries to counter it with a takedown but Varvaskoukku pushes his down on his head and steps out. Uno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Varvaskoukku changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Uno throws a body shot but no joy. Varvaskoukku throws a front kick aimed at Uno's knee but Uno avoids it well. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Uno! But no joy. Uno on the wrong end of a nice jab. Uno throws a lazy right hand but Varvaskoukku sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Uno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's one minute gone in the round. Uno fails to land with a series of punches.
Varvaskoukku connects with a single shot there. Uno takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Uno tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Varvaskoukku doesn't manage to clinch there - Uno circles away.
Uno is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Varvaskoukku with a body shot. Nice straight punches there by Varvaskoukku. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Varvaskoukku. Uno keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Varvaskoukku throws a body punch but Uno moves out of range. A jab from Uno misses. Uno throws a lazy uppercut
and Varvaskoukku counters with a single leg into guard. Uno didn't expect that. Varvaskoukku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Uno swivels though and keeps the full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Varvaskoukku preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Varvaskoukku chips away with some ground and pound. Uno is trying to keep Varvaskoukku in close.
Varvaskoukku with a flurry of punches that miss. Uno is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Varvaskoukku is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Uno scores with a couple of nice shots. Varvaskoukku is looking for a sweep. Uno is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Varvaskoukku trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Varvaskoukku tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Uno lands a couple of good shots and Varvaskoukku has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Uno is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Uno gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Uno gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Uno apologises and we restart here on the feet.
A chopping leg kick lands by Varvaskoukku. Uno lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Varvaskoukku ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Varvaskoukku drops down looking for a counter takedown but Uno sprawls and moves away. Varvaskoukku digs a good hook to Uno's body.
Uno takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Uno slips under a jab. Uno shoots in and drives through. Varvaskoukku sprawls well. Uno moves out of range of the body kick from Varvaskoukku.

Uno has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Varvaskoukku. Uno closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Varvaskoukku to the mat! Varvaskoukku manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Varvaskoukku keeping moving, preventing Uno from controlling successfully. Varvaskoukku is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Uno looking to pass the guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Varvaskoukku working a defensive guard here.
Varvaskoukku is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Uno is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Varvaskoukku seems keen to control Uno's posture. Varvaskoukku controls Uno momentarily but Uno frees himself. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rainer Varvaskoukku will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Varvaskoukku misses with a leg kick. Uno gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Varvaskoukku to score an easy takedown into full guard. Uno looking to hit a scissor sweep but Varvaskoukku is one step ahead there. Varvaskoukku passes Uno's left leg - he's now in half guard. Varvaskoukku is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Uno can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Varvaskoukku trying to control the action but Uno is working from the bottom. Varvaskoukku trying to mount his opponent but Uno defends it.

Varvaskoukku missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Varvaskoukku not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Varvaskoukku perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Varvaskoukku is trying to control. Uno wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Uno slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Varvaskoukku wants to control from the top but Uno keeps moving. Varvaskoukku throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Uno fails with the takedown. Varvaskoukku throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Uno stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Varvaskoukku looks to score with a jab to the body but Uno is just out of range. A little jabbing left from Uno on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Uno moves out of range of the body kick. Uno bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Varvaskoukku lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Uno backs up against the cage.
Varvaskoukku looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Uno darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Uno drives through with a takedown into Varvaskoukku's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Varvaskoukku has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Uno can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Uno chips away with some ground and pound. Uno is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Varvaskoukku pulls Uno in close to prevent any damage. Uno throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Uno won't allow Varvaskoukku to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Varvaskoukku has his feet on Uno's thighs here. He's pushed Uno off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Uno screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rainer Varvaskoukku! A relieved looking Rainer Varvaskoukku thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
