PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Jamison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braden Turk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turk is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Status Quo- Deeper and Down. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Braden Turk!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turk checks a low kick from Jamison.
Jamison takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Danga de danga de dang - Turk scores with a four punch combination!
Turk swings for the body but Jamison moves out of range.
Turk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jamison.
Jamison moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Turk has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Jamison.
Braden Turk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jamison has been working on his boxing with his coaches at IMMA Gym of Elite ASS in the buildup to the fight.
Jamison throws a head kick but Turk moves out of range.
Jamison tries to clinch up but Turk circles away and keeps his distance.
Turk feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jamisons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Jamison ducks right into an uppercut from Turk.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jamison scores with the left hand. Turk knows he should have avoided that one.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turk.
Jamison checks a leg kick.
Jamison throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Turk fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jamison sprawls well initially but Turk persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jamison has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Turk is working away from the top position though.

Turk lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Turk tries to pass to full mount but Jamison defends it.

Turk is trying to control the action in half guard but Jamison is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Turk throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Jamison is looking to control Turk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jamison avoid being mounted?

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Turk connects with a nice short shot to Jamison's temple.
Turk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Turk not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Well, if Turk is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Turk working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Let's hope that Turk has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jamison is staying active underneath Turk, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Turk thows a huge punch but Jamison dodges it nicely.

Turk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jamison does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Turk is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jamison defends it well.

Turk is nestled in close to Jamison, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Jamison is trying to control but can't.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Turk lands a nice short elbow.

Turk got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jamison has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Turk has managed to get both his arms back between Jamison's legs - danger averted.
