Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Castle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Joe Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Castle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Joe Ward! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Reed Andrews and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castle tries to clinch up but Ward circles away and keeps his distance. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ward. A chopping leg kick lands by Castle. Castle throws a nice head kick!
Castle throws a head kick but Ward moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ward looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Castle throws a sloppy head kick and Ward moves out of range easily. Ward dives in and scores a takedown into Castle's guard. Castle pushes Ward off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ward rushes Castle and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Castle jumps into guard, dragging Ward to the mat.
Ward controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Castle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Castle tries to get out of the position. Castle wants to stand up but Ward is controlling him. Castle avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castle wants to get back to his feet but Ward is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Castle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ward sprawls well. Ward wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castle gets slowly back to his feet. Ward gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ward tries for a takedown but Castle manages to get underhooks.
Ward breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Castle misses with a two punch combination.
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch but Castle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ward avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Castle looks to land a combination but Ward avoids it well. Castle scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Castle throws a right and a left that Ward avoids nicely. Castle stuffs the takedown. Ward clinches up with Castle and pushes him back against the cage. Ward is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Ward's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Castle shoots and misses and Ward cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ward avoids the head kick by Castle.
Castle is breathing heavily. Castle moves in looking to clinch but Ward pushes him off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ward swats away the attempt to clinch by Castle. Castle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ward looks for a takedown but Castle sprawls well. Frank Castle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Joe Ward. Castle lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ward circles away quickly and effectively. Castle tries for a takedown but Ward sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Castle misses with the combination.

Ward feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ward stays in close to Castle's body and controls the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ward throws a big elbow that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Frank Castle will probably get the nod. That's time! Castle's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Castle shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ward defends it nicely. Castle tries to clinch but Ward moves out of range. Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ward sprawls well. Ward wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Castle gets slowly back to his feet. Frank Castle is winning the standup battle so far. Castle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ward throws a series of punches but Castle moves out of range. Ward fails in his attempt to clinch. Castle throws a series of punches but Ward avoids them all with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Left hook, right uppercut from Castle. The crowd cheers as Castle lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ward doesn't seem phased though. A low kick from Ward is predictable there and Castle connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ward scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ward is trying to control the action in half guard but Castle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward wants to stand up but Castle has a hold of him and won't allow it. Ward is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Castle still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Castle has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Ward can't do much from the bottom here. Ward wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ward is trying to control Castle's posture but Castle avoids it. Ward is trying to get back to half guard. I wouldn't like to be where Ward is right now. Ward can't do much from the bottom here. Castle stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castle misses with a jab, cross combination.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Castle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Castle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward gets a takedown into half guard. Ward trying to control the pace.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castle is trying to stand.
Castle is staying active underneath Ward, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ward stops Castle from getting back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ward is taking a breather. Castle says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Castle is trying to stand.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Castle will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Castle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ward moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Castle tries to keep at a distance but Ward has taken the fight into the clinch. Ward has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Castle regains guard immediately. Ward passes Castle's left leg - he's now in half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ward stops Castle from getting back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Ward content to control rather than advance. Ward winds up and cracks Castle with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ward is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Castle! Ward lands a couple of good shots and Castle has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Ward working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Castle is doing well to defend. Ward seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Castle is forced to tap and this one is over!
