Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Robert Mazzuca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eerikki Kurki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robert Mazzuca! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eerikki Kurki! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mazzuca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kurki moves away. Mazzuca staying out of range there. Mazzuca slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
It looks like Eerikki Kurki has been cut. Kurki lands with a hook. Mazzuca tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kurki scores with a one two! Mazzuca had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Mazzuca looks to throw the jab but Kurki is out of range. Mazzuca lands a head shot. Mazzuca throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Kurki on the side of the head. Mazzuca pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Mazzuca gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kurki to score an easy takedown into full guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mazzuca pulls Kurki in close to prevent any damage. Mazzuca seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Kurki postures up and lands a big shot to Mazzuca's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kurki throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Mazzuca seems keen to control Kurki's posture. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kurki working his ground and pound in the gym. Mazzuca looking to control but Kurki passes into half guard.
Mazzuca is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mazzuca is positioning himself well to prevent Kurki advancing to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mazzuca is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kurki scores with a couple of nice shots. Kurki sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mazzuca defending well though. Mazzuca is looking to improve his position.
Kurki is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kurki is looking to advance position but Mazzuca won't allow it. Mazzuca is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kurki trying to control from half guard but Mazzuca is working away. Mazzuca wants to improve his position but Kurki is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Kurki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mazzuca's head. Mazzuca trying to control here.

Kurki is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mazzuca sees it coming and defends easily. Mazzuca keeping hold of Kurki's head, controlling as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mazzuca makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mazzuca. Kurki has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kurki is in close to Mazzuca's body, working some short punches and elbows. Mazzuca looking to control.
Mazzuca has Kurki pulled in close to control his posture. Kurki is looking to work some ground and pound but Mazzuca has wrist control. Kurki wants to pass the guard but Mazzuca is keeping the position. Mazzuca trying to control the position here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kurki trying to control but Mazzuca is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eerikki Kurki dominated that round. The cut man is working on Eerikki Kurki's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mazzuca misses with a hook. Kurki displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mazzuca throws out the jab. Mazzuca tries to land a front kick but Kurki steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Kurki has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Kurki lands the left hand. Mazzuca slips a jab from Kurki. Kurki throws the left hand but Mazzuca avoids the punch easily. Nice uppercut lands for Kurki. That snapped Mazzuca's head back.
A jab from Mazzuca misses. Kurki ducks under a wild hook from Mazzuca. Kurki connects with a body shot that sends Mazzuca's belly button to the back. A big right from Kurki misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mazzuca smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Mazzuca throws the kick towards the body but Kurki avoids it. Mazzuca misses with a low kick as Kurki jumps back. Kurki takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kurki throws a hook to the side of Mazzuca's head but Mazzuca sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mazzuca throws a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mazzuca takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Mazzuca throws a head kick that misses. Mazzuca scores with a leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for Kurki. That snapped Mazzuca's head back.
Mazzuca lands a big head kick that sends Kurki tumbling to the mat! Mazzuca takes a step backwards and waves Kurki back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Kurki is rocked! Robert Mazzuca is winning the standup battle so far. Kurki cracks Mazzuca with a right hand to the side of the head. Kurki is still on wobbly legs! Can Mazzuca finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kurki avoids a kick to the body.
Kurki swings for the body but Mazzuca moves out of range.
Mazzuca throws an overhand right that lands on Kurki's shoulder, as Kurki tries to avoid the shot. Crack! Mazzuca connects with the perfect overhand right and Kurki falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Mazzuca!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Robert Mazzuca! In his post fight interview, Robert Mazzuca started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
