Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Ovaska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Lagk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimo Ovaska! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Lagk! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ovaska digs a good hook to Lagk's body.
Lagk tries to clinch there but Ovaska circles away.

and Lagk counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ovaska thinking. Lagk wants to clinch. A punch combination from Lagk misses. Lagk walks into a straight right hand from Ovaska. Ovaska throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lagk dodges the punch combination from Ovaska.
Ovaska avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lagk lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Kimo Ovaska is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Lagk gets in close and instigates a clinch. Lagk swings wildly with an uppercut but Ovaska uses good head movement to avoid it. Ovaska prevents the takedown attempt.

Lagk shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ovaska sprawls well. Ovaska wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lagk gets slowly back to his feet. As Lagk backs away, Ovaska returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Ovaska with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A clash of legs there as Lagk blocks the low kick. Lagk dodges the punch combination from Ovaska.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovaska pivots, looking for a leg kick but Lagk is out of range and Ovaska settles back down. Lagk slips under a jab from Ovaska. Lagk shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ovaska manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Ovaska is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lagk is controlling him. Lagk wants to control from the top but Ovaska keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lagk passes Ovaska's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Lagk wants to free his trapped foot but Ovaska is holding on for dear life with his legs. Ovaska has his hands clasped together around Lagk's back. He's all about the action. Ovaska trying to control but Lagk postures up.
Ovaska pushes Lagk off looking to stand but Lagk dives back in and keeps control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lagk is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Kimo Ovaska seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ovaska scores with a sloppy right hand. Lagk should have avoided that one. We've been told by Ovaska's head coaches at The Shark Tank that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Lagk scores with a one two! Ovaska had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Nick Lagk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lagk doesn't manage to clinch there - Ovaska circles away.

Ovaska swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lagk postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Lagk trying to control but Ovaska is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Lagk throws an elbow that misses. Ovaska uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lagk's guard. Nice move by Ovaska!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lagk has a closed guard, preventing Ovaska from standing up. Lagk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Lagk looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lagk utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ovaska wants to stand and escape but instead Lagk has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Lagk trying to control but Ovaska is working from the bottom. Lagk tries to free his leg and advance position but Ovaska is retaining full guard. Lagk stands and throws Ovaska's legs to the side, diving into side control. Lagk is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ovaska has escaped the position, nice work there. Lagk controlling the position from side mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lagk working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Nick Lagk has got the better of the ground game so far. Ovaska is trying to improve his position. Lagk looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lagk lands an elbow. Ovaska is trying to get back to half guard. Ovaska tests Lagk's chin there with a solid looking shot. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ovaska lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lagk has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lagk and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. A jab from Ovaska does it's job there. Ovaska ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Lagk tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ovaska sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lagk somewhat.

Ovaska displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lagk. Ovaska was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Kimo Ovaska is winning the standup battle so far. Ovaska throws a nice looking combination but Lagk bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ovaska avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Lagk walks into a stiff left hand from Ovaska. Lagk closes the distance and clinches. A nice left hand lands by Ovaska.
