Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Imre Szeltan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maggot King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen IllEvilHater - Maniac Maggot as his entrance music. Maggot King will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Imre Szeltan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maggot King!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King looks to land a body kick but Szeltan moved away.
Szeltan appears to be looking for a big counter.
King moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
King pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Szeltan feinted with a counter takedown.
King looks to land a body kick but Szeltan moved away.
Szeltan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from King.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Szeltan misses with a wild combination.
King misses with a body kick.
King misses with a two punch combination.
Szeltan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from King.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Szeltan's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Szeltan. King does a little dance to reset his feet.
We've been hearing reports that Szeltan has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Szeltan tries to bum rush King with a series of wild strikes but King uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Szeltan shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in King's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Maggot King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by King.
Szeltan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.
King throws a series of punches but Szeltan avoids them all with ease.

Szeltan missing with a left hand there. King was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Szeltan scores with a sloppy right hand. King should have avoided that one.
King feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Szeltan's calf.
King misses with an attempted mid kick.
Szeltan fakes a jab and throws a low kick but King checks it well.
Szeltan takes one to the side of the head.
Szeltan blocks a jab.
King connects with a looping right hand.
Szeltan blocks a head kick by King.
Szeltan tries to counter with a takedown but King is quick to defend against it.
A head kick from King lands but Szeltan takes it in his stride.
King throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Szeltan.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Szeltan moves out of range of the strikes.
King throws a sloppy head kick and Szeltan moves out of range easily.
Szeltan throwing a counter right hand but King manages to avoid it.

King gets tackled into the cage by Szeltan. Szeltan maintains the clinch.
Szeltan misses with a short punch on the inside.
King misses with the head strike.
King works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
King lands an elbow inside that Szeltan shrugs off.
King is leaning against Szeltan and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Szeltan is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Szeltan misses with a punch on the inside.
King using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Szeltan has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Szeltan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, King creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
King lands a damaging elbow.
King lands an elbow that stopped Szeltan in his tracks for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King throws a lazy head kick

and Szeltan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in King's guard.
Szeltan advances to half guard.
Szeltan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Szeltan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Szeltan is trying to control the action in half guard but King is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Szeltan wants to pass to mount but King is defending the position.

King has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Szeltan is working away from the top position though.

Szeltan wants to take his opponent's back but instead King manages to regain half guard.

Szeltan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Szeltan.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Szeltan connects with a nice short shot to King's temple.

Szeltan wants to work for an arm triangle but King is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
King is trying to stand up here but Szeltan is controlling him well.
Imre Szeltan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Szeltan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Szeltan is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now.

Szeltan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

King works his way to full guard. Good work.

Szeltan works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Szeltan wants to take a breather but King is having none of it.
Szeltan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
King tries to roll over but Szeltan keeps him under control.
Szeltan wants to advance to full mount but King doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Szeltan wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.
Szeltan wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

Szeltan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now.

Szeltan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! King is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Szeltan, into his guard.

King wants to control from the top but Szeltan keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Szeltan takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Szeltan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
King fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Szeltan on the side of the head.
King has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Szeltan takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
King lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
King lands a nice looking kick to the body. Szeltan takes a step back to recover.
King uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Szeltan.
Maggot King seems to be getting the better of the standup.
King lunges at Szeltan with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Szeltan's hand.
Szeltan shoots for a takedown but King saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
King connects with a single shot there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
King misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Szeltan.
Szeltan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from King.

Imre Szeltan's cut is getting worse.
King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
King throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Szeltan counters with a takedown into side control.
Szeltan advances to full mount.
King slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Well, if Szeltan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Szeltan works his foot free and advances to mount.
King's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Szeltan looking to control but King is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Szeltan wants to control but King has made it back to half guard. Nice work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Szeltan.
Szeltan is controlling the pace.
King is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

King is trying to stand up here but Szeltan is controlling him well.

King pushes Szeltan off and gets back to his feet.
King feints and then cracks Szeltan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Szeltan down.
Szeltan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Szeltan shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as King sprawls well. King wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Szeltan gets slowly back to his feet.
King connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
King lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Szeltan circles away quickly and effectively.

King changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
King connects with a looping right hand.
King misses with a wild combination.
Szeltan appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from King.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Good leg kick by King there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Szeltan walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Szeltan takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Szeltan avoids the head kick by King.
Szeltan was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Nice defenses there by Szeltan.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maggot King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think King has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
