Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Eli Patel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dan Vine! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vine looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Vine is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Vine is trying to control the action in half guard but Patel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Vine prevents Patel from improving his position. Vine is looking to stall here but Patel recovers full guard. Vine forces his way into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patel regains full guard. Nicely done. Vine loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's one minute gone in the round. Patel looking for a sweep. Not yet Patel, not yet. Vine wants to get up but he can't break Patel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Patel has his feet on Vine's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Vine has managed to clinch.

Patel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Patel stopping the sweep attempt from Vine.

Patel is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Patel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vine for as long as he can get away with. Vine working a defensive guard here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Vine wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Patel manages to pass to side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vine is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Patel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Patel's back! Vine lands an elbow to the side of the head. Vine looking for the RNC. Patel is in a bad position with Vine working for a choke. Patel manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment. Vine looking to hit a scissor sweep but Patel is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vine wants to stand but Patel is controlling the position. Patel is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vine not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Vine dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Vine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Patel moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Vine closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Patel working aggressively here.
Vine has clasped his hands together around Patel's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Patel gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Vine has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Patel is not content to let Vine control the position. Patel manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Vine keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Vine pulls guard effortlessly. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vine is trying to keep Patel in close.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vine wants to control the position but Patel says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Vine trying to control here.
Vine wants to control the action here but instead Patel manages to pass to full mount! Patel controlling from mount. Vine wants to hold on but Patel pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patel stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Vine misses with a head kick.
Patel closes the distance and clinches up with Vine, looking for a takedown. Patel pushes Vine against the cage but Vine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Vine closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vine lands in his opponent's guard. Vine won't allow Patel to sweep him here. Patel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vine's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vine looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Patel puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Vine trying to get back to full guard but Patel takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Vine trying desperately to get to his feet.
Patel looking to control and managing it successfully. Vine tries to control Patel's body but Patel pushes him off. Vine squirms to his side and now Patel has his back! Vine is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Patel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vine tries to break free.
I would not like to be Vine right now.
Vine looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Patel dominated that second round. That's time! Patel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Vine throws a low kick but Patel avoids it. Vine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Patel tries to strike from the bottom.
Vine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Vine wants to pass the guard but Patel is keeping the position. Patel scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
Patel has his feet on Vine's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vine closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vine lands in his opponent's guard. Patel has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Vine has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vine is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Patel is keeping busy. Vine successfully pulls guard.
Patel stands up over Vine, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Eli Patel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vine seems keen to control Patel's posture. Patel sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Vine looking to control but Patel passes into half guard.
Patel content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vine wants to get back to full guard but Patel has passed into side control. Vine tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Patel working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Vine is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Patel won't let Vine get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Vine is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vine wants to control but Patel is having none of it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Eli Patel showed his dominance in that final round. I think Patel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
