The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vine looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vine is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Vine is trying to control the action in half guard but Patel is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Patel seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vine for as long as he can get away with.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Vine rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Patel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Patel manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Vine keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Patel stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Patel closes the distance and clinches up with Vine, looking for a takedown. Patel pushes Vine against the cage but Vine circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Patel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vine's guard.

Vine looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Patel puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Vine is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Patel could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Vine looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Patel dominated that second round.
That's time! Patel's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Vine throws a low kick but Patel avoids it.
Vine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Vine must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
