Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Halfdan Lodbrok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Az Tenochtitlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lodbrok kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Killing in the name of.... Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Halfdan Lodbrok! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Az Tenochtitlan! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tenochtitlan checks a low kick from Lodbrok. Tenochtitlan doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Lodbrok throws a wild body kick that Tenochtitlan sees coming a mile off. Lodbrok throws a lazy right hand but Tenochtitlan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Tenochtitlan cracks Lodbrok with a right hand to the side of the head. Tenochtitlan on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Lodbrok throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tenochtitlan. Tenochtitlan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lodbrok. That one must have hurt. Tenochtitlan thows a left - swing and a miss! Tenochtitlan swings for the body but Lodbrok moves out of range.
Lodbrok throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Tenochtitlan looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Good standup being displayed there by Lodbrok as he connects with a hook. Lodbrok scores with a crisp jab that stopped Tenochtitlan in his tracks. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lodbrok slips a straight right by Tenochtitlan. Halfdan Lodbrok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tenochtitlan takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tenochtitlan. Lodbrok does a little dance to reset his feet. Tenochtitlan walks into a straight right hand and goes down! Lodbrok rushes to a neutral corner so the count doesn't get delayed but Tenochtitlan has made it back to his feet on 5. He's OK so we're back to the action.
Tenochtitlan is rocked! Tenochtitlan throws a hook to the side of Lodbrok's head but Lodbrok sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Tenochtitlan is still on wobbly legs! Can Lodbrok finish him? Lodbrok misses with a head kick.
Lodbrok scores with a leg kick.
Lodbrok lands with a kick to the ribs.
Tenochtitlan seems to have recovered his senses. Tenochtitlan looks winded! Lodbrok works the jab nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Lodbrok. Tenochtitlan was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Lodbrok and Tenochtitlan are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Lodbrok throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Tenochtitlan into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Lodbrok knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Halfdan Lodbrok! Halfdan Lodbrok tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
