PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodger Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kryptonite. Rodger Crowe has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rodger Crowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cain Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez misses the shot to the body.
Crowe throws a big counter combination but Velasquez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Crowe is not content to let Velasquez control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rodger Crowe will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Crowe has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Velasquez is working away from the top position though.

Crowe is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Velasquez is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Velasquez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Crowe on his heels. He'll look to pass Crowe's guard now, I'm sure.
