Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Pearson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Niga!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearson moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Niga should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Niga pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Pearson has Niga up against the ropes in a clinch.
Pearson just leaning against Niga, taking a breather.

Pearson breaks the clinch.

Pearson clips Niga with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Niga a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.


Niga is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Niga gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A right hook to the body lands for Pearson.
Niga tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pearson avoids it.

Pearson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Niga tries to stall but Pearson uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Pearson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Niga misses with a body kick.
As Niga looks to move away, Pearson throws a big counter combo bu Niga just gets out of the way.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Pearson forces Niga back against the ropes and clinches.
Pearson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Niga breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Niga gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Pearson breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Niga with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Niga looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Niga get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? Yes, he's struggled back up to his feet and seems OK to continue. The referee agrees so we're back to the action!
Niga throws a body kick that misses.

Pearson scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Niga to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
Niga is still on wobbly legs! Can Pearson finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Niga throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Niga seems to have recovered his senses.
Pearson closes the distance and lands a lead uppercut that stumbles Niga back against the ropes! Pearson follows up with a jab and a huge straight right that knocks Niga out cold! What a finish! Pearson looks absolutely delighted, as he should do! Congratulations that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Pearson!
