Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeda Shingen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ethan Powell could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Takeda Shingen's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ethan Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeda Shingen! The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shingen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shingen shoots in for a takedown but Powell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Powell darts in and clinches Shingen up against the cage. Shingen working hard to break the clinch. Shingen pulls guard. Powell tries to free his leg and advance position but Shingen is retaining full guard. Powell definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Shingen looking for a guillotine here but Powell defends easily.
Shingen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Powell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Shingen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Powell has managed to get both his arms back between Shingen's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shingen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Shingen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Powell is aware though and is defending well. Powell looking to pass the guard. Powell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The fighters are working up against the cage. Shingen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Shingen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Powell tries for a takedown but Shingen manages to get underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shingen throws a punch but it's blocked by Powell. Powell fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ethan Powell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Powell wants a takedown but no success here.
Powell is breathing heavily. Shingen tries to pull guard but Powell forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Powell is looking for a takedown. A nice right hand lands inside from Shingen. Shingen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shingen scores with a nice hook to the head. Shingen can't get the takedown.
Shingen pulls Powell into guard.
Shingen controlling Powell's posture. Powell preventing the sweep. Shingen controlling Powell's posture. Powell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shingen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powell wants to control from the top but Shingen keeps moving. Shingen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Powell tries to free his leg and advance position but Shingen is retaining full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Powell shoots in but no luck this time. Powell takes a swing at Shingen's ribcage but misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takeda Shingen dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Nice sprawl there from Powell as Shingen shoots in. Shingen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Powell as he jumps to the side. Powell appears to be looking for a big counter. Powell throws a right and a left that Shingen avoids nicely. Ethan Powell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Powell shoots for a takedown but Shingen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Powell. Despite the aggression on Shingen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. A momentary lapse in concentration from Shingen enables Powell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shingen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Powell being controlled here momentarily. Shingen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Powell jumps guard but Shingen stands there with Powell around his waist. Powell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Shingen scores with a head kick. Powell tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. Powell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Powell wants it to stay on the feet. Shingen darts in trying to clinch and Powell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Powell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shingen pinned against the cage. Shingen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown attempt by Shingen or perhaps it was just good defense by Powell, which made it look bad. Powell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Takeda Shingen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shingen has taken the fight to the clinch.
Powell turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Powell taking a break here but Shingen is having none of it and regains half guard. Shingen pushes Powell off and gets back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shingen doesn't manage to clinch there - Powell circles away.
Powell clinches up against the cage. Shingen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shingen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Powell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Powell throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Powell moves into the clinch successfully.
Shingen tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Powell avoids it. Shingen breaks the clinch.
Shingen leaves Powell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Powell gets in close and instigates a clinch. Knees to the body from Shingen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powell is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Shingen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Powell misses with a takedown attempt - Shingen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Powell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That was a close second round but I would say that Ethan Powell will probably get the nod. That's time! Powell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Powell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shingen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Powell somewhat. Shingen tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Powell counters with a takedown into side control. Shingen regains half guard. Takeda Shingen has got the better of the ground game so far. Shingen is concentrating on defense, preventing Powell from advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shingen pushes Powell off and gets back to his feet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Shingen has Powell up against the cage in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shingen successfully pulls guard.
Shingen keeping moving, preventing Powell from controlling successfully. Powell looking to sit in guard and control but Shingen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Powell working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shingen. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Powell is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shingen has his hands on Powell's head, controlling the position. Shingen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Powell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Shingen's guard. Powell throwing strikes from guard but Shingen blocks nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powell wants to get up but he can't break Shingen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Shingen holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Shingen tries to clinch but Powell is having none of it. Shingen fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Powell throws a right hand that Shingen ducks under and follows up with a left that Shingen also avoids with ease. Powell instigates a clinch. Powell blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Powell fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Shingen moves into range and clinches up with Powell. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Shingen crunches a lovely knee into Powell's ribcage. Shingen with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Both fighters working to control the clinch. Shingen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Powell.
And that's the end of the fight! Takeda Shingen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Shingen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
