Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trey Hills!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Maximus!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hills goes for a double leg but Maximus avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Maximus continues to drive forward.
Maximus prevents the takedown attempt.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Maximus.
Hills blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Maximus lands an elbow just above Hills 's eye.

Hills has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Maximus regains guard immediately.

Hills stays in close to Maximus's body and controls the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hills is pushing down on Maximus's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maximus is fighting to maintain full guard but Hills has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hills lands a nice short elbow.

Hills stops Maximus from getting back to his feet.
Maximus tries to get to full guard but Hills has control of the leg.
Hills lands with a punch from half guard.

Hills is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maximus is just riding it out for now. Hills eventually gives up the hold.

Maximus is staying active underneath Hills, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hills looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Hills avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Hills shoots in and bounces Maximus off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Hills won't allow Maximus to get back to his feet.
Maximus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hills. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hills not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Hills forces his way into half guard.
Maximus tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hills has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hills's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Maximus gets caught napping as Hills dives in and scores a takedown. Maximus manages to retain guard.
Maximus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hills is one step ahead there.
Hills controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hills decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Maximus, up you get!
Trey Hills is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Maximus stuffs the takedown.
Maximus is looking for the big counter here.
Hills slaps away a takedown attempt from Maximus, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Hills swats away the attempt to clinch by Maximus.
Maximus pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Hills back to the cage. Maximus follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Hills will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hills moves nicely into side control.
Hills controls the position from side control.

Maximus is not content to let Hills control the position.
Hills tries to advance to mount but can't.

Hills is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maximus has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hills is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maximus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maximus on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Hills moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Trey Hills overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Hills taking a break here but Maximus is having none of it and regains half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hills works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hills is landing with some decent strikes but Maximus is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hills in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hills has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Maximus's face.


It looks like Dan Maximus has been cut.
Hills softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Maximus is out cold! Hills jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trey Hills!
Trey Hills made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'This is just 1 win. I'm looking at each one individually & staying focused. Going back to the lab asap & continue too put my puzzle together.'.
