Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jilly Bean McQueen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergey Vasilyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sergey Vasilyev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jilly Bean McQueen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sergey Vasilyev!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McQueen throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Vasilyev is trying hard to land a takedown here. McQueen sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vasilyev's coach down at Fitness elite 24/7 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vasilyev's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McQueen throws a jab but it's blocked by Vasilyev.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vasilyev tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McQueen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McQueen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

McQueen wants to take a breather but Vasilyev manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for McQueen.

Vasilyev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McQueen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McQueen tries to free his leg and advance position but Vasilyev is retaining full guard.
McQueen wants to control from the top but Vasilyev keeps moving.
Vasilyev controls McQueen momentarily but McQueen frees himself.
McQueen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Vasilyev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McQueen defends well.
McQueen wants to control from the top but Vasilyev keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

McQueen is looking for a kimura but Vasilyev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McQueen to get the leverage.

Vasilyev throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
McQueen looks to land a right hand but Vasilyev moved out of range.

McQueen lands with a shot to the body.
Vasilyev avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McQueen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vasilyev can do to turn this around?
McQueen throws the left hand but Vasilyev avoids the punch easily.

Vasilyev shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. McQueen is trying to defend but Vasilyev finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

McQueen has his foot on Vasilyev's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vasilyev works his way back into a safe position though.
McQueen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McQueen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McQueen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sergey Vasilyev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McQueen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vasilyev paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jilly Bean McQueen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


McQueen throws a shot from downtown. Vasilyev moves away and avoids it.

Vasilyev shoots in and drives through. McQueen sprawls well.

Vasilyev shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McQueen's guard.
McQueen lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

McQueen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
