Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Clint Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Carter Jose De La Cus! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jose De La Cus darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Jose De La Cus stands up from half guard. Young avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jose De La Cus throws a combination that misses and Young counters with a lovely shot to the body. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Young. Jose De La Cus throws a wild combination but nothing lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jose De La Cus tries to clinch there but Young circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Young is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Young seems to be looking for submissions.
Young thows a huge punch but Jose De La Cus dodges it nicely.

Young looking for a guillotine from mount but Jose De La Cus is having none of it. Young goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jose De La Cus turns into him and now he's in Young's guard.

Young preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jose De La Cus is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Jose De La Cus with a flurry of punches that miss. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Jose De La Cus is looking to stand up but Young won't let him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carter Jose De La Cus dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jose De La Cus slaps away a takedown attempt from Young, before circling back to the center of the mat. Young will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Young dodges the punch combination from Jose De La Cus.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Young enables Jose De La Cus to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Young manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Jose De La Cus decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Young, up you get! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jose De La Cus throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Young gets caught flat footed, as Jose De La Cus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Jose De La Cus looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Young working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Jose De La Cus. Jose De La Cus is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Young working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jose De La Cus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Young postures up in Jose De La Cus's guard and throws a big left but Jose De La Cus blocks it. Young with a flurry of punches that miss. Our spies down at at Cozad MMA Tokyo inform us that Jose De La Cus has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Young throws a strike but Jose De La Cus rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jose De La Cus trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Young looking for a guillotine here but Jose De La Cus defends easily.
Young working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jose De La Cus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jose De La Cus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Jose De La Cus postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jose De La Cus stands and steps away. Young gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Jose De La Cus rushes Young and presses him up against the cage. Young prevents Jose De La Cus from breaking the clinch. Jose De La Cus is trying to push Young away but Young has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Jose De La Cus is trying to stall.

Jose De La Cus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jose De La Cus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Jose De La Cus taking a breather here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Young tries to bench press Jose De La Cus off him but Jose De La Cus keeps the position. Carter Jose De La Cus has got the better of the ground game so far. Jose De La Cus throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Jose De La Cus looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Young is avoiding damage well.

Carter Jose De La Cus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Jose De La Cus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Young was covering up waiting for the punch and Jose De La Cus finishes the takedown easily into guard. Jose De La Cus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Young has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jose De La Cus has managed to get both his arms back between Young's legs - danger averted. Jose De La Cus wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving. Jose De La Cus won't allow Young to sweep him here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Young keeping moving, preventing Jose De La Cus from controlling successfully. Young will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jose De La Cus loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. A looping hook to the body misses from Jose De La Cus. Young does a little dance to reset his feet. Carter Jose De La Cus is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jose De La Cus stuffs the takedown attempt from Young. Young gets slowly back to his feet. Young swats away the attempt to clinch by Jose De La Cus. Jose De La Cus tries to clinch up. Young really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Carter Jose De La Cus is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jose De La Cus engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jose De La Cus won't allow Young to sweep him here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Jose De La Cus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jose De La Cus gets the takedown into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that's the end of the fight! Carter Jose De La Cus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jose De La Cus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
