Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Be (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Be tries to clinch there but Gunner circles away.
Be fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Be tries to close the distance and clinch but Gunner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Be swats away the attempt to clinch by Gunner.

Be closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Gunner throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Be is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gunner has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gunner is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Be's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Gunner wants to improve his position but Be is controlling well.

Gunner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Be is working away from the top position though.
Be tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Gunner slips a nice elbow through Be's hands, connecting with Be's forehead.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gunner connects with a nice short shot to Be's temple.

Be is staying active underneath Gunner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Be trying to hold on to Gunner's head to control him but Gunner postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gunner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Be is looking for a sweep. Gunner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gunner is nestled in close to Be, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Gunner stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Gunner is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Be has his foot on Gunner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gunner works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Gunner has closed the distance and engaged Be in a clinch.
Gunner unloads a knee to the mid-section. Be lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Be throws a head kick that misses.

Gunner drives through and clinches with Be against the cage.

Gunner has hold of one of Be's legs. Be is fighting the takedown attempt but Gunner gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Gunner passes into half guard.
Be pushes Gunner off looking to stand but Gunner dives back in and keeps control.
Gunner looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Be with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Be is looking to escape.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mike Gunner is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Be is desperately trying to improve his position but Gunner has a good base and remains in mount.

Mike Gunner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gunner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
