Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Belfort's choice of entrance music: WESTBAM-Agharta. Vitor Belfort is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vitor Belfort!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Belfort drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Anderson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Belfort dives into side control.
Anderson is being controlled here.

Belfort decides to stand back up. Belfort steps back and let's Anderson get back to his feet.

Belfort forces Anderson back against the cage and clinches.
Anderson tries to break the clinch but Belfort is controlling the position.
Anderson can't break the clinch.

Anderson wants to break free but Belfort has control.

Belfort prevents Anderson from breaking the clinch.

Belfort breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Anderson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Belfort.

Belfort tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Belfort has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Anderson is being controlled here.

Belfort decides to stand back up.
Anderson throws a body kick that misses.
Anderson misses with a body kick.
Belfort avoids the head kick by Anderson.
A telegraphed right hand from Anderson misses the target.
Anderson swings for the body but Belfort moves out of range.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
Belfort moves out of range of the body kick.
Anderson lunges at Belfort with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Belfort's hand.


It looks like Vitor Belfort has been cut.

Anderson throws a head kick but Belfort moves out of range.
Anderson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Anderson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Belfort fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Belfort persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Belfort controlling the pace.

Belfort is taking a breather. Anderson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Belfort seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belfort throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Anderson pushes Belfort off looking to stand but Belfort dives back in and keeps control.

Belfort is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Anderson defends it well.
Belfort is looking to advance position but Anderson won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Belfort is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Anderson misses with an uppercut. Belfort saw that one coming.
Anderson throws a lazy head kick

and Belfort counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Belfort has him pressed against the cage.

and Belfort counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Anderson!
Anderson wants to try and get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Anderson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Anderson looks to throw the jab but Belfort is out of range.

Belfort drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face as Belfort controls the position.
Anderson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Belfort is controlling him well.

Belfort stands up and beckons Anderson to his feet.
Anderson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Belfort counters with a shoot takedown. Anderson fights it but they end up in guard.

Belfort gets to his feet. Anderson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Belfort counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Belfort trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Belfort drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Belfort jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vitor Belfort showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Anderson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Belfort counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderson's guard now.

Anderson throws a nice looking combination but Belfort bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Anderson throws a right hand that Belfort ducks under and follows up with a left that Belfort also avoids with ease.

Anderson is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Anderson's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Belfort feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Belfort changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Belfort stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Belfort manages to pass to side control.

Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Belfort on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Vitor Belfort comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Belfort winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
