Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Santos Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moustafa Kamal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Santos Chavez has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Santos Chavez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Moustafa Kamal! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chavez clinches up with Kamal and pushes him back against the cage. Kamal has Chavez pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kamal pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Chavez tumbling to the mat - Kamal dives into Chavez's guard. Kamal trying to control but Chavez is working from the bottom. Chavez trying to keep a closed guard but Kamal is proving a slippery customer.
Kamal cracks Chavez with a solid left hand. Kamal trying to control the position from guard on top but Chavez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kamal postures up in Chavez's guard and throws a big left but Chavez blocks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chavez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kamal is one step ahead there. Kamal has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chavez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kamal is one step ahead there. Kamal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kamal cracks Chavez with a solid left hand. Kamal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Chavez wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Chavez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kamal. Kamal misses with a straight right. Chavez throws a quick counter kick to the body but Kamal avoids it. Chavez moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kamal has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chavez is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Chavez fails to pull guard.
Kamal is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Chavez pulls him back up using the underhooks. Chavez drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Kamal gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kamal is trying to pull guard but Chavez turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Santos Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moustafa Kamal. Chavez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kamal avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Kamal is trying to drag Chavez to the mat but Chavez just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Kamal looks winded! Chavez is trying to pull guard but Kamal turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Kamal is looking to take this one to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez tries to break the clinch but Kamal is controlling the position. Chavez breaks from the clinch.

Chavez appears to be looking for a big counter. Kamal shoots in looking for a takedown. Chavez tries to sprawl out of it but Kamal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Chavez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kamal misses with a takedown attempt - Chavez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Chavez closes the distance and pushes Kamal back into the cage. Chavez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chavez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kamal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chavez somewhat. Kamal fails with the takedown. Chavez thinks about countering with a head kick. Chavez shoots in but no luck this time. Chavez pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Chavez has Kamal pressed against the cage.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chavez tries to pull guard but Kamal won't allow it.
Kamal working hard to break the clinch. Kamal lands a left hand that snaps the head of Chavez backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Santos Chavez will probably get the nod. That's time! Chavez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chavez scores with a one two! Kamal had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Chavez shoots in looking for a takedown. Kamal tries to sprawl out of it but Chavez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kamal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Chavez moves into the clinch. Kamal is looking for a takedown. Chavez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kamal after a bit of a struggle. Kamal can't get the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chavez tries to break free but Kamal pushes him back against the cage. Kamal putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Chavez in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Kamal tries to stall but Chavez uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Kamal is breathing heavily. Kamal is trying to pull guard but Chavez has him pressed against the cage. Santos Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moustafa Kamal. Kamal drops down looking for an ankle pick but Chavez pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez closes the distance and pushes Kamal back into the cage. Kamal is looking to control Chavez's arms but Chavez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kamal has his back to the cage. Chavez pulls guard. Kamal preventing the sweep. Chavez keeping moving, preventing Kamal from controlling successfully. Chavez pulls Kamal in to control the position. Kamal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Chavez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Chavez looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chavez passes Kamal's left leg - he's now in half guard. Chavez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Chavez wants to free his trapped foot but Kamal is holding on for dear life with his legs. Chavez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Kamal defending well though. Chavez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Chavez wants to pass the guard but Kamal is defending well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kamal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Chavez shoots in for a double leg but Kamal sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Chavez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Chavez lands a body shot. Chavez is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kamal is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chavez to the mat. Chavez regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Chavez is striking but Kamal is not phased and passes to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chavez gets full guard. Chavez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kamal won't allow Chavez to get back to his feet. Chavez wants to control but Kamal passes easily into half guard.
Kamal working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Kamal thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Chavez looking for a kimura from the bottom but Kamal passes into side control! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Chavez seems a little lost for a moment, as Kamal dominates the positioning. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Santos Chavez will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Kamal doesn't succeed with the takedown and Chavez counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kamal thinking. Kamal shoots for a takedown but Chavez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Chavez tries to counter by clinching up but Kamal breaks away and moves out of range. Chavez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kamal is fending him off so far but Chavez persists. Nope, Kamal circles away and we're back to standing. Chavez throws out a leg kick but Kamal moves out of range and Chavez only half commits. Chavez shoots in but Kamal avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kamal has closed the distance and engaged Chavez in a clinch.

Kamal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kamal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chavez as he avoids it easily. Santos Chavez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Moustafa Kamal. Chavez has closed the distance and engaged Kamal in a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Chavez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Chavez is trying to drag Kamal to the mat but Kamal just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Chavez stalls. Chavez jumps guard but Kamal stands there with Chavez around his waist. Chavez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chavez is looking to take this one to the mat. Kamal tries to stall but Chavez uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Chavez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Chavez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kamal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chavez's waist but Chavez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kamal off to one side. Santos Chavez is winning the standup battle so far. Chavez goes for a double leg but Kamal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kamal continues to drive forward. Chavez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kamal sprawls well. Kamal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chavez gets slowly back to his feet. Moustafa Kamal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kamal fails with the takedown. Chavez attempts a counter takedown but Kamal avoids it well and moves away. Kamal blocks a head kick by Chavez.
Kamal fails with the takedown and Chavez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Chavez takes the fight into the clinch. Chavez tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chavez pulls Kamal into guard.
Chavez keeping moving, preventing Kamal from controlling successfully. Kamal throws a big elbow that misses. Moustafa Kamal has got the better of the ground game so far. Chavez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kamal is controlling him. Chavez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kamal on the ground. Chavez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Chavez has momentary wrist control but Kamal slips an elbow through the middle. Kamal scoring with punches to the head and body. Chavez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Kamal with a lazy takedown attempt and Chavez counters by clinching up. Moustafa Kamal has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Santos Chavez has scored more points in the clinch so far. Chavez successfully pulls guard.
Kamal working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Chavez looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! And that's the end of the fight! Santos Chavez showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Chavez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
