Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Andy Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Clark rushes Emelianenko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Clark pulls guard successfully.
Emelianenko is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Clark trying to keep a closed guard but Emelianenko is proving a slippery customer.

Emelianenko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Emelianenko counters with a shoot takedown. Clark fights it but they end up in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Clark controls Emelianenko momentarily but Emelianenko frees himself.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Clark misses with an attempted mid kick.
Clark pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Emelianenko crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Clark - the referee stops the clock and Emelianenko gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Clark. Emelianenko manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Emelianenko throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Clark tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Emelianenko is in Clark's guard.
Clark really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Clark controls Emelianenko momentarily but Emelianenko frees himself.
Emelianenko wants to stand but Clark has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Emelianenko thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Clark if he has to take too many more of those.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Emelianenko changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Clark looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Emelianenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Emelianenko perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Fedor Emelianenko showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Clark tries to bum rush Emelianenko with a series of wild strikes but Emelianenko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Emelianenko tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Emelianenko counters with a nice low kick that buckles Clark's knee momentarily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Emelianenko accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Clark is wriggling around but Emelianenko manages to pass to half guard.
