PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Cull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cull might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alexisonfire - Accidents . The key to victory for Micheal Cull has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Micheal Cull!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Jackson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cull gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cull keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Jackson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cull not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Cull keeps moving.

Cull working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jackson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jackson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Cull is keeping the position.

Cull wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cull swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cull has his takedown stuffed

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Cull fights it but they end up in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cull is breathing heavily.

Cull is defending against the submission attempts here by Jackson.

Cull is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cull on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cull can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Jackson tries to keep at a distance but Cull has taken the fight into the clinch.
Cull misses with a punch to the body.

Jackson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cull can't fight it off and eventually Jackson manages to take the fight to the floor. Cull looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cull has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cull is looking to clinch.

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Cull.

Cull gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cull will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Jackson passes Cull's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jackson is tying to control. Cull wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Cull is defending well.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cull had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cull Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead.

Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jackson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cull's guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jackson connects with a nice short shot to Cull's temple.

Cull throws a right and a left that Jackson avoids nicely.

and Jackson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Jackson cracks Cull with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

I've got Jackson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
