Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonas De Vos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitri Yurkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Vos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Wash My Soul -Tricky. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonas De Vos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitri Yurkov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yurkov shoots for a takedown but De Vos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
De Vos throws a big counter combination but Yurkov scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Yurkov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as De Vos sprawls well. De Vos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yurkov gets slowly back to his feet.
As Yurkov looks to move away, De Vos throws a big counter combo bu Yurkov just gets out of the way.
De Vos blocks a head kick by Yurkov.
Yurkov shoots in for a double leg but De Vos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
De Vos is looking for a counter combo.
Jonas De Vos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dmitri Yurkov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Dmitri Yurkov has been cut.

Yurkov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. De Vos tries to avoid it but Yurkov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag De Vos to the ground. De Vos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
De Vos stalling in the clinch but Yurkov improves position.
De Vos lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Yurkov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Yurkov tries for a takedown. No joy.
De Vos jumps guard but Yurkov stands there with De Vos around his waist. De Vos gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
De Vos is looking to take this one to the mat.
Yurkov has De Vos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. De Vos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
De Vos tries to pull guard but Yurkov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
De Vos drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Yurkov gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Vos has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
De Vos stops a takedown attempt from Yurkov.
De Vos fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Yurkov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. De Vos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
De Vos lands a hook to the side of the head.
A bit of stalling here from De Vos.
Yurkov wants a takedown.
Yurkov changes levels and goes for a takedown here. De Vos fights it off and pushes away nicely.

De Vos throws a series of punches but Yurkov avoids them all with ease.
De Vos misses with the combination.
De Vos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've been told by De Vos's head coaches at Mo's ($450) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Yurkov lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Yurkov showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from De Vos.
Jonas De Vos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
De Vos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yurkov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Yurkov wants to counter with a clinch but De Vos pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yurkov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
De Vos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Yurkov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. De Vos manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Yurkov clinches up with De Vos and pushes him back against the cage.

Yurkov manages to pull guard.

De Vos is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Yurkov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. De Vos is looking to defend but Yurkov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for De Vos! Yurkov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, De Vos taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dmitri Yurkov!
Our winner, Dmitri Yurkov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
