The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ben loads up on a big right hand but Mercurio slips the punch.

Mercurio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ben throws out the jab.
Mercurio wants to counter with a clinch but Ben pushes him away.
Mercurio takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ben lands with a hook. Mercurio tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Ben doesn't manage to clinch there - Mercurio circles away.
A little jabbing left from Mercurio on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Ben uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mercurio.

Ben fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mercurio now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Ben bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mercurio takes one on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben pushes Mercurio against the cage. Ben is working some dirty boxing. Ben pushes off with a quick right hook! Mercurio goes down! Mercurio tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Ben moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
