Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Funktastic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping comes to the ring accompanied by Open Hapiness. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ping tries to close the distance and clinch up but Funktastic swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Funktastic gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ping trying to control but Funktastic is working from the bottom.
Funktastic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ping manages to get himself to full guard.
Funktastic sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Ping is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Ping is tying to control. Funktastic wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Ping seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Funktastic is looking to escape.
Funktastic punching from the bottom.
Ping is looking to take a break and control but Funktastic is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Funktastic shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ping pinned against the cage. Ping gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ping lands a nice hook to Funktastic's body. Funktastic takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ping has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Funktastic is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Funktastic in particular looking to stall.

Funktastic passes to full mount!
Ping tries to control the position but Funktastic now has his back.
Funktastic gets his hands free as Ping looks to control.

Despite being in the dominant position, Mr Funktastic just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Funktastic looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ping tries for a takedown but Funktastic circles away easily

and Funktastic counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ping's guard now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ping is wriggling around trying to escape.
Funktastic forces the positional change into back control.
Funktastic is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
