Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kabal Labak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Cosades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kabal Labak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Cosades! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cosades with a jab.
It looks like Kabal Labak has been cut. Cosades is looking to slow Labak down with leg kicks. Cosades throws a body shot but no joy. Cosades misses with a looping left. As Cosades tries to get set, Labak tries to push him back and clinch up but Cosades manages to avoid the attempt. Labak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cosades moves away. Labak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cosades looks like he wants to counter punch here. Cosades misses with a low kick as Labak jumps back. Labak walks forward, straight into a front kick from Cosades. Labak avoids a punch combination nicely.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Cosades. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cosades is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Labak. Cosades tries to clinch but Labak moves out of range. Labak looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cosades uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Labak.
Cosades throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Labak lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Cosades cracks the inside of Labak's front leg. Cosades gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Labak. Cosades displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Labak throws out the jab. Cosades takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Cosades lands a nice shot to the body.
Cosades throws an overhand right that lands on Labak's shoulder, as Labak tries to avoid the shot. Labak takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cosades comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Labak moves out of range of the leg kick from Cosades. Cosades bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Labak's head backwards. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cosades turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cosades swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A leg kick checked by Labak. Cosades throws a body shot but no joy. Cosades throws a body shot but no joy. Cosades tries to bum rush Labak with a series of wild strikes but Labak uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Cosades throws a looping overhand right but Labak ducks down to avoid it. No luck for Labak with that takedown attempt. Cosades lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Labak with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Cosades to score with a decent uppercut. Nice straight punches there by Cosades. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cosades. Labak shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cosades napping and manages to drive through into side control!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cosades can't do much from the bottom here. Cosades prevents Labak from improving position. Cosades is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Labak advances nicely into full mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Labak trying to control but Cosades is having none of it. Cosades reaches up to try and control the position but Labak seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Cosades rolls and tries to escape and now Labak has his back!
A bit of a pause in the action here. Labak controlling the positon. Labak is trying to stick to Cosades's back but Cosades is turning into Labak. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Labak's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Cosades. Labak being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Labak keeping moving, preventing Cosades from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charlie Cosades dominated that round. The cut man is working on Kabal Labak's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Labak ducks under a wild hook from Cosades. Charlie Cosades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cosades ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Cosades throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Labak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Cosades misses with a body shot.
Labak is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Cosades. Cosades scores with a punch to the head. Cosades lands with an overhand left. Labak keeps the fight on the outside. Labak throws out a loose jab but Cosades uses good head movement to avoid it. Cosades fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Labak misses with a straight right. Cosades has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Labak throws a looping overhand right but Cosades ducks down to avoid it. Labak swings for the body but Cosades moves out of range.
Charlie Cosades seems to be getting the better of the standup. Cosades throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Labak will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cosades fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Labak manages to avoid it. Labak scores with a decent looking hook. Labak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cosades was well out of range. Poor timing from Labak. Cosades wants to counter with a clinch but Labak pushes him away. Cosades's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Labak connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cosades scrambles back to his feet. Cosades will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Charlie Cosades is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cosades looks to score with a jab to the body but Labak is just out of range. Labak connects with the punch. Labak throws a hook but Cosades blocks it. Labak throws a hook but Cosades blocks it. Cosades throws out a counter right but Labak avoids it with no problem. Labak keeps the fight on the outside. Labak blocks the body kick.

Cosades misses with a looping right. Labak seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A looping hook to the body misses from Cosades. Labak does a little dance to reset his feet. Cosades throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Cosades uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Labak. Labak misses with an uppercut. Cosades saw that one coming. Labak throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cosades's waist but Cosades gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Labak off to one side. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cosades misses the shot to the body. Labak closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cosades regains full guard. Nicely done. Cosades has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Cosades being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Labak passes easily into side control. Nice work. Cosades is not content to let Labak control the position. A control attempt from Cosades but he's now mounted!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Labak trying to control but Cosades is having none of it. Cosades is looking to improve his position but Labak isn't that keen on the idea. Labak tries to control but Cosades wriggling away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Kabal Labak will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Kabal Labak's cut. That's time! Labak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Cosades misses with an uppercut. Cosades looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Labak tries to move into range but Cosades moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Cosades misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Labak.
Nice sprawl there from Cosades as Labak shoots in. Labak jabbing away but nothing is landing. Labak moves out of range as Cosades throws a body kick.
Labak tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Cosades manages to circle out of the way. A looping hook to the body misses from Labak. Cosades does a little dance to reset his feet. Cosades throws a leg kick which misses Labak's front leg but catches the back leg as Labak tries to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Cosades, as that shot connected.

Cosades fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Labak. Cosades keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Labak. Cosades just misses with a punch to the body.

As Cosades tries to get set, Labak tries to push him back and clinch up but Cosades manages to avoid the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Labak shoots in for a takedown but Cosades shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kabal Labak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Labak changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cosades looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Labak working away. Labak throws an elbow but Cosades slips to the side and avoids it well. Cosades is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cosades manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Labak keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The fighters are battling for position here. Labak manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Cosades postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cosades wants to control from the top but Labak keeps moving. Cosades throws an elbow that misses. Labak uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cosades's guard. Nice move by Labak! Labak seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Labak pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cosades is keeping the position for now. Labak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Cosades trying to control the position here. Labak content to stall in guard here. Labak trying to control but Cosades is working from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cosades looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kabal Labak. I think Labak has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
