Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sa Pinto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pinto comes to the cage accompanied by Grande Sá. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bryan Martin! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinto gets the takedown into side control. Pinto working away. Pinto knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martin on the ground. Pinto is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Martin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Pinto working away. Martin is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pinto's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Pinto is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pinto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martin keeps working. Pinto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinto is trying to control the action in half guard but Martin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Martin is trying to control but can't.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Martin actively working from the bottom here. Pinto is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Martin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Martin. Martin trying to keep a closed guard but Pinto is proving a slippery customer.
Pinto passes easily into side control. Nice work. Martin wants to control but Pinto postures up. Martin regains half guard. Pinto is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Martin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pinto. Pinto working the head and body with strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Martin is trying to maintain the position but Pinto is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pinto is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Martin throws a lazy head kick and Pinto counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Martin! Pinto in side control, throwing shots but Martin defends. Pinto looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pinto thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Pinto is breathing heavily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Martin is positioning himself to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Martin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pinto's guard. Pinto keeping moving, preventing Martin from controlling successfully. Martin looking to pass the guard. Pinto has a closed guard, preventing Martin from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Martin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pinto swivels though and keeps the full guard. Martin won't allow Pinto to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martin is in close to Pinto's body, working some short punches and elbows. Pinto is adopting a defensive guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Martin tries to clinch but Pinto moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Martin as Pinto shoots in. Martin looks to land a combination but Pinto avoids it well. Pinto appears to be looking for a big counter. Martin dives in and grabs Pinto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pinto pushes down on Martin's head and hops out. Pinto shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Martin is refusing to be controlled, as Pinto sits in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Martin trying to control from the bottom.
Pinto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Martin defends it well. Martin is pressing down on Pinto's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Martin pulls Pinto in to control the position. Pinto lands a couple of digs. Pinto scoring with some ground and pound. Martin has Pinto pulled in close to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinto has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Martin to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pinto is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Martin pulls down on the head and he's put Pinto to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bryan Martin!
