Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demarcus Hurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hendog Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Demarcus Hurst! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hendog Thornton! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thornton pushes Hurst up against the cage in a clinch. Thornton scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Demarcus Hurst has been cut. Thornton with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Thornton manages to break the clinch.
Hurst avoids the head kick by Thornton.
Thornton is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Thornton closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton jumps guard but Hurst turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Hurst is looking to take this one to the mat. Thornton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thornton tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Hurst defends well and Thornton ends up having to push Hurst into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Hurst feinted with a counter takedown. Hendog Thornton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thornton moves to clinch but Hurst breaks away and Hurst counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thornton won't be happy with that. Hurst tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Hurst working the ground and pound but Thornton is defending the strikes. Hurst is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thornton has escaped the position, nice work there. Thornton tries to bench press Hurst off him but Hurst keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hurst throwing shots but missing, from side control. Thornton is looking for a sweep. Thornton tries to escape but Hurst is in control. Thornton tries to get back to half guard but can't. Thornton avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Hurst. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hurst has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thornton is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hurst has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Thornton gets in close and instigates a clinch. Thornton misses with a knee strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thornton pushes Hurst back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Hurst is trying to pull guard but Thornton turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Hurst prevents the takedown attempt.
Demarcus Hurst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hendog Thornton. Thornton taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hurst postures up.
Hurst wants to get up but he can't break Thornton's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Thornton is trying to keep Hurst in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thornton is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Demarcus Hurst will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Demarcus Hurst's cut. That's time! Hurst's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Thornton darts in looking for a takedown but Hurst gets double underhooks and turns Thornton into the cage. Hurst appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Hurst gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Thornton regains guard.
Hurst throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Thornton looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hurst gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Thornton is looking to clinch. Thornton doesn't manage to clinch there - Hurst circles away.

Thornton is striking but Hurst is not phased and passes to half guard. Thornton wants to get back to full guard. Thornton has a hand on Hurst's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Hurst takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Hurst unloading with bombs! Hurst wants to control the pace but Thornton is squirming around nicely. Thornton can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thornton wants to hold on but Hurst pushes him away. Hurst throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Hurst really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hurst lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Hurst goes for an armbar but Thornton turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Thornton. This has been an exciting period of action! Thornton's corner is telling him to maintain position. Hurst throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Thornton wants to control from the top but Hurst keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hurst pushes Thornton off and gets back to his feet.
Thornton shoots in but no luck this time. Demarcus Hurst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hendog Thornton. Thornton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Thornton tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hurst swats him away and circles back towards the center. Thornton tries to clinch and Hurst counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Thornton regains full guard. Nicely done. Thornton is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurst postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Thornton is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hurst, into his guard. Thornton preventing the sweep. Thornton must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hurst bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thornton's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thornton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hurst missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Thornton pulls Hurst in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hurst slaps away a takedown attempt from Thornton, before circling back to the center of the mat. Thornton moves into the clinch successfully.
Thornton throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hurst blocks it with crossed arms. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thornton lands a nice uppercut. Hurst letting Thornton take a breather here. Thornton misses with a knee strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thornton tries to pull guard but Hurst forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Demarcus Hurst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hendog Thornton. Thornton landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Hurst tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Thornton just stands there and leans against the cage. Hurst has Thornton pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Thornton manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hurst tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hurst is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Thornton can do to turn this around? Thornton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Hurst fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thornton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hurst, pushing him back against the cage. Thornton's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Thornton pushes Hurst back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Thornton is trying to drag Hurst to the mat but Hurst just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thornton leaning his opponent against the cage. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Thornton obliges. Thornton fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Thornton lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hurst jumps guard but Thornton turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Thornton lands an uppercut. Thornton drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hurst pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hurst gets the takedown into side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thornton wants to control but Hurst postures up. Thornton has one of Hurst's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Hendog Thornton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Demarcus Hurst is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hurst lands a nice forearm strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Hendog Thornton comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hurst has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
