Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Christmas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alak Aksornpan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Christmas comes to the cage accompanied by Enea Vollare Mezzo. Aksornpan has chosen Thai National Anthem - as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Christmas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alak Aksornpan! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aksornpan misses with the combination.
Aksornpan throws a series of punches but Christmas avoids them all with ease. Aksornpan throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Christmas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Christmas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Aksornpan tries to counter by closing the distance. Christmas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Aksornpan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aksornpan lands a lovely overhand right. A swing and a miss from Christmas. Christmas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Aksornpan wants to land a leg kick but Christmas is out of range. Aksornpan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

It looks like John Christmas has been cut. Aksornpan closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Aksornpan tries to stand but Christmas is controlling his head. Aksornpan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Christmas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Christmas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Christmas wants to improve his position but Aksornpan is controlling well.
Aksornpan is keen to just control but Christmas is a slippery customer. Christmas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Christmas. Christmas trying to control the position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Christmas is looking for a triangle but Aksornpan pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christmas trying to keep a closed guard but Aksornpan is proving a slippery customer.
Christmas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aksornpan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Christmas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Christmas scoring with strikes to the body and head. Christmas is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Aksornpan sees it coming and defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Christmas with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aksornpan wants to control but Christmas is keeping busy.
Aksornpan is staying active underneath Christmas, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Aksornpan looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Christmas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Aksornpan has managed to free his arm - good work. Aksornpan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Christmas pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Christmas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Christmas wants to work for an arm triangle but Aksornpan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Christmas is trying to control. Aksornpan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Aksornpan looking for submissions off his back. Aksornpan on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Christmas is figuring out what he wants to do next. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alak Aksornpan dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Christmas's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Aksornpan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Christmas tries to counter with a takedown but Aksornpan is quick to defend against it. Aksornpan scores with a punch to the head. Aksornpan jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Christmas darts in looking for a takedown but Aksornpan gets double underhooks and turns Christmas into the cage. A jab from Christmas misses. Aksornpan is looking for the big counter here. Christmas throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Alak Aksornpan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from Aksornpan misses. Christmas throws a lazy right hand but Aksornpan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Christmas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aksornpan manages to avoid it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Some bone on bone action there as Aksornpan checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Aksornpan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Christmas lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Aksornpan backs up against the cage.
It looks like Alak Aksornpan has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Christmas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Christmas will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aksornpan up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Christmas is trying to break the clinch but Aksornpan has him pressed against the cage. Aksornpan manages to break the clinch.
Christmas rushes Aksornpan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Christmas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aksornpan scores with a punch to the head. Aksornpan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Aksornpan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Christmas throws a wild hook but Aksornpan just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Christmas gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Aksornpan raises his hands in celebration and walks away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alak Aksornpan! Alak Aksornpan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
