Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alex Rouge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chance Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex Rouge had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.9lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Alex Rouge could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chance Spong's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Alex Rouge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chance Spong!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rouge throws a head kick but Spong moves out of range.
Spong jabs at Rouge's body.
Spong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Spong is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rouge will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Spong is working to tighten his grip on Rouge's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rouge has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Spong is really squeezing tight and eventually Rouge passes out! Spong breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Chance Spong!
In his post fight interview, Chance Spong started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
