The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lang is taking a breather. Mercer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mercer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mercer lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lang has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lang and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Mercer feints and then cracks Lang's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lang down.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee asks Lang politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Lang prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Lang has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
