Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Big Viet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kody Scott!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Viet goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Scott throws a head kick that misses.
Scott fails to land the takedown.

Scott closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Scott blocks the elbow strike.
Viet wants to get back to striking at distance but Scott won't allow it.
Scott is working for takedown but Viet is calmly controlling the position for now.
Viet throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Scott slowing the pace effectively.
Scott dodges an elbow strike from Viet.
Viet misses with an elbow over the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Viet throws a head punch that misses.
Scott wants to break free but Viet has control.
Viet throws an elbow but it misses.
Scott tries for a takedown. No joy.
Big Viet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kody Scott.

Scott turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Scott manages to end up in side control.
Scott misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Scott tries to stand but Viet controls the position and pulls Scott into his guard.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Viet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Scott really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Viet. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Scott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Scott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Viet throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Scott stays in close to Viet's body and controls the position.

Scott throws a sloppy strike and Viet has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Scott is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Viet!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Big Viet!
