Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mary Dunlap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brooklyn Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mary Dunlap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brooklyn Davis!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Chris Dean and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis misses with a few strikes there.
Davis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nice sprawl there from Davis as Dunlap shoots in.
Dunlap throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Davis stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dunlap.
Davis misses with a leg kick.
Davis misses with a series of wild punches.

Dunlap looking to score a takedown here. Davis is defending well but Dunlap drives through and ends up in Davis's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dunlap controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Dunlap gets to his feet. Davis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dunlap fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Dunlap.

Dunlap instigates a clinch.
Davis keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dunlap's efforts to push away.
Dunlap is trying to pull guard but Davis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mary Dunlap. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dunlap prevents Davis from breaking the clinch.
Davis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dunlap takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Dunlap uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Dunlap scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dunlap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davis tries to avoid it but Dunlap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davis to the ground. Davis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Davis chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dunlap can pounce on him.
Dunlap tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dunlap misses with a low kick.
Dunlap uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Davis has time to react.
Dunlap looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Dunlap blocks a head kick by Davis.

Dunlap pushes Davis away with a front kick.

Dunlap pushes Davis up against the cage in a clinch.
Dunlap holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Dunlap is trying to pull guard but Davis turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Davis is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Dunlap manages to pull guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dunlap has a closed guard, preventing Davis from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Davis tries to clinch there but Dunlap circles away.
Dunlap throws a wild body kick that Davis sees coming a mile off.
Dunlap turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dunlap tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Dunlap tries to score a power double leg takedown but Davis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dunlap somewhat.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunlap will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dunlap shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense.
Davis unleashes a big counter combination but Dunlap bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Dunlap has managed to clinch.
Dunlap jumps guard but Davis stands there with Dunlap around his waist. Dunlap gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dunlap tries to pull guard but Davis won't allow it.
Dunlap jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Davis walks away with a smile on his face. Dunlap gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Davis misses with a low kick as Dunlap jumps back.
Dunlap closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Dunlap dives in for a single leg takedown but Davis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mary Dunlap is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Davis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dunlap to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Dunlap controls from within his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Davis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dunlap defends it easily.
Davis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Dunlap with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Dunlap is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Dunlap lands a leg kick that knocks Davis off balance momentarily.
Dunlap throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dunlap feints a jab promting Davis to slip. Dunlap then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Davis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Davis tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dunlap lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dunlap doesn't manage to clinch there - Davis circles away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dunlap tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dunlap wants to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Dunlap lands a leg kick that knocks Davis off balance momentarily.
Dunlap dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davis. That did some damage!
Dunlap lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Davis takes the fight into the clinch.
Dunlap drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Davis gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Dunlap successfully pulls guard.
Davis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davis looking to pass the guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dunlap holds on and takes a little breather.

Dunlap is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dunlap avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dunlap working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Davis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Davis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dunlap wants to stand but Davis is controlling the position.
Dunlap keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Dunlap has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Davis has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Davis blocks the elbow strike.
Davis pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Dunlap jumps guard but Davis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Davis blocks a body shot from Dunlap.
Dunlap tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Davis just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mary Dunlap. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis can't get the takedown.
Dunlap is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Dunlap is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dunlap tries to pull guard but Davis holds him up against the cage and eventually Dunlap drops back down to his feet.
Davis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Dunlap jumps guard.
Davis postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dunlap is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davis can do to turn this around?

Dunlap is looking to cinch up a triangle. Davis throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Dunlap's body to avoid the submission. Dunlap has instead reached around Davis's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Dunlap arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
