Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Albein Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Albein Rock will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Albein Rock!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock throws a series of punches but Booth avoids them all with ease.
As Rock looks to move away, Booth throws a big counter combo bu Rock just gets out of the way.

Rock pushes Booth up against the cage in a clinch.
Rock tries to pull guard but Booth won't allow it.
Booth leaning against his opponent.

Rock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rock is defended easily by Booth.
Booth misses with a two punch combination.
Rock goes for a double leg but Booth avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Booth continues to drive forward.
Jose Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Albein Rock.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bit of stalling here from Booth.

Booth breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Booth counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Booth.

Booth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rock closes the distance and clinches up with Booth, looking for a takedown. Rock pushes Booth against the cage but Booth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Rock looks winded!
Booth scores with a kick to the midsection.
Booth lands with a kick to the ribs.
Rock shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Booth as he jumps to the side.
Rock takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Booth stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Booth lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Rock has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Booth lands with a kick to the temple. Rock shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Booth slaps away a takedown attempt from Rock, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Booth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rock looks to score with a jab to the body but Booth is just out of range.
Booth looks to land a combination. Rock sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Booth keeps Rock at a distance using the push kick.
Booth throws a series of punches but Rock moves out of range.
Rock lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Booth goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Rock tries to bum rush Booth with a series of wild strikes but Booth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Booth darts in and clinches Rock up against the cage.

Booth keeps Rock at a distance using the push kick.
Rock avoids a punch combination nicely.

Rock takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Booth swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Booth looks to land a combination but Rock avoids it well.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Rock tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Booth avoids it.

Booth escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Booth darts in and clinches Rock up against the cage.
Rock jumps guard but Booth turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Booth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Booth counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rock enables Booth to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rock manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Booth throws an elbow that misses. Rock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Booth's guard. Nice move by Rock!

Booth is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rock can do to turn this around?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rock tries to free his leg and advance position but Booth is retaining full guard.
Rock is breathing heavily.

Booth pulls Rock in close to prevent any damage.
Rock throws an elbow that misses. Booth uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rock's guard. Nice move by Booth!

Booth is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rock is aware though and is defending well.

Rock felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Booth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well Booth has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
