3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leo Bruce! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bruce rushes Riordan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Bruce is trying to push Riordan away but Riordan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Bruce has had enough of the clinch but Riordan keeps him there for the moment. Bruce looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Riordan lands an elbow just above Bruce 's eye. Bruce wants to break free but Riordan has control.

Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Bruce is in close to Riordan's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bruce must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bruce tries to free his leg and advance position but Riordan is retaining full guard. Riordan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Riordan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Bruce working some strikes from top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Riordan closes the distance and clinches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nice elbow from Riordan.
