Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roque Barretto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Repe Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barretto comes into the arena with Last Man Standing - By 4ft Fingers blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
38 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roque Barretto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Repe Sorsa! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Phil Schofield and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice leg kick lands there from Barretto. Sorsa on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Barretto. Barretto obviously looking to wear him down.
Repe Sorsa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sorsa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barretto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Sorsa shoots in and drives through. Barretto sprawls well. Sorsa misses with a combination
and Barretto moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Barretto. Sorsa content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Sorsa taking a breather. Sorsa receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Still in the clinch, Barretto scores with a nice short uppercut. Sorsa misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sorsa blocks an uppercut.

Barretto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Barretto tries a low kick but Sorsa avoids it. Sorsa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barretto closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Sorsa throws a looping overhand right but Barretto ducks down to avoid it. No luck for Sorsa with that takedown attempt. Sorsa swings for the body but Barretto moves out of range.

Sorsa moves out of range as Barretto strikes. Sorsa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Barretto defends it well. Barretto pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Barretto tries to sprawl but Sorsa drives through with a takedown into half guard. Barretto trying to control but Sorsa postures up.
Sorsa is keen to just control but Barretto is a slippery customer.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sorsa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barretto's head. Barretto is trying to maintain the position but Sorsa is very close to passing his half guard. Barretto is holding on to half guard well. Barretto works his way to full guard. Good work. Sorsa with a flurry of punches that miss. Barretto pulls Sorsa in to control the position. Barretto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sorsa. Sorsa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barretto not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Sorsa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Barretto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Roque Barretto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Repe Sorsa. This has been an exciting period of action! Sorsa misses with an uppercut. Barretto saw that one coming. Sorsa tries for a takedown but Barretto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barretto misses with a hook. Barretto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Barretto wants to slow Sorsa down by chopping away at his legs. Sorsa moves out of range of the strikes. Sorsa avoids the body shot from Barretto.
Barretto ducks right into an uppercut from Sorsa. Sorsa with a jab. Barretto is looking to score with low kicks. Barretto connects with a single shot there. A leg kick checked by Sorsa. Barretto throws a half hearted mid kick. Nice uppercut lands for Barretto. That snapped Sorsa's head back.
Roque Barretto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sorsa checks the leg kick nicely there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barretto loads up on a big right hand but Sorsa slips the punch. Sorsa feints the counter takedown. Nice takedown defense from Barretto. No joy for Sorsa on that attempt. Barretto throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Sorsa on the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Barretto throws a leg kick which misses Sorsa's front leg but catches the back leg as Sorsa tries to avoid it. Sorsa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sorsa lands with a shot to the body. Barretto tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Sorsa is able to avoid easily. Sorsa throws a jab but it's blocked by Barretto. A chopping leg kick lands by Sorsa. Sorsa cracks Barretto with an open hand slap. Sorsa throws a jab but it's blocked by Barretto. Barretto looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Barretto looks to score with a jab to the body but Sorsa is just out of range. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roque Barretto will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Sorsa scores with a nice head shot. Barretto tried to score with a low kick but Sorsa checks it. Sorsa throws a leg kick letting Barretto counter with a right hand.
It looks like Repe Sorsa has been cut. Sorsa rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Barretto counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Sorsa checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sorsa bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Barretto's head. Sorsa avoids a kick to the body.
Nice jab there from Barretto. A solid body kick from Barretto. Sorsa lands with a good body shot. Sorsa keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Sorsa dips down and scores with a jab to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Sorsa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Barretto avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barretto throws a shot from downtown. Sorsa moves away and avoids it. Sorsa scores with a jab to the jaw. Sorsa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barretto.
Sorsa throws a hook but Barretto blocks it. Barretto tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sorsa was well out of range. Poor timing from Barretto. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Barretto crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sorsa - the referee stops the clock and Barretto gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sorsa. Barretto manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Sorsa shoots in for a takedown but Barretto shows good takedown defense. Barretto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sorsa sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sorsa ducks under a wild hook from Barretto. Sorsa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Barretto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sorsa.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sorsa scores with a hook to the body. Barretto takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sorsa misses with a lunging right hand
and Barretto counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sorsa's knee momentarily. Barretto fakes the leg kick and cracks Sorsa in the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sorsa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Barretto's guard. Sorsa is breathing heavily. Barretto looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Sorsa preventing the sweep. Sorsa postures up in Barretto's guard and throws a big left but Barretto blocks it. Barretto is pulling down on Sorsa's head. It's preventing any offense from Sorsa, at least for the moment. Barretto controls Sorsa momentarily but Sorsa frees himself. My spies in KO Gym inform me that Sorsa has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sorsa looking to pass the guard. Barretto is pulling down on Sorsa's head. It's preventing any offense from Sorsa, at least for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Barretto throws out a loose jab but Sorsa uses good head movement to avoid it. Sorsa slips a jab from Barretto. Sorsa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Barretto connects with a body shot. Jab by Sorsa.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barretto finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Sorsa checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sorsa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barretto moves away. An inside leg kick lands from Barretto. A nice leg kick lands there from Barretto. Barretto slaps away a takedown attempt from Sorsa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Roque Barretto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Repe Sorsa. Barretto drops Sorsa with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Sorsa! Barretto dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roque Barretto! An out of breath Roque Barretto thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
