Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Andersson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trent Pope! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Andersson! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Andersson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Andersson has control of Pope's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Pope regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Pope really wants to buck Andersson off and get back to his feet. Pope defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Andersson. A nice elbow there by Andersson. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Andersson landing strikes from the mount. Andersson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pope is surviving well by controlling Andersson's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pope is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Andersson is controlling him well. Andersson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pope, who protects the arm well. Pope is trying to buck Andersson off. Andersson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Pope lands a jab to the head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Andersson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pope's waist but Pope gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Andersson off to one side. Pope is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Andersson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Andersson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pope has Andersson up against the cage in a clinch.

Pope is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Andersson. Andersson is looking to reverse the position. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Pope closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Pope with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Pope breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
