Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leigh Ellison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JT Vacca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vacca has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. JT Vacca is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leigh Ellison! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, JT Vacca! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vacca clinches up with Ellison and pushes him back against the cage. Vacca looks winded! Vacca trying to stall but Ellison improves his position.
Ellison tries for a takedown. No joy.
Ellison has had enough of the clinch but Vacca keeps him there for the moment. Ellison pulls guard successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vacca stops Ellison from standing up. Ellison might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ellison controls Vacca momentarily but Vacca frees himself. Vacca throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vacca wants to control from the top but Ellison keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellison pulls Vacca in to control the position. Vacca content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Vacca looking to pass the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ellison shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vacca as he jumps to the side. Vacca decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vacca throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Vacca stops Ellison from getting back to his feet.
Ellison regains full guard. Nicely done. Ellison looking for a sweep. Not yet Ellison, not yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellison is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vacca is controlling him. Vacca working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Ellison has his foot on Vacca's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vacca works his way back into a safe position though. Vacca postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ellison drives through with a takedown into Vacca's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Ellison throws an elbow that misses. Vacca uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ellison's guard. Nice move by Vacca!
Ellison could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ellison keeping moving, preventing Vacca from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vacca throws a strike but Ellison rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ellison decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ellison shoots in for a takedown but Vacca shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leigh Ellison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellison closes the distance and pushes Vacca back into the cage. Ellison has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vacca is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ellison tries to pull guard but Vacca holds him up against the cage and eventually Ellison drops back down to his feet.
Ellison is trying to push Vacca away but Vacca has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vacca throws an elbow but it misses.
Vacca drags the fight down to the ground.
Ellison is working Vacca over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Ellison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vacca works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vacca is trying to hold Ellison in close to prevent damage but Ellison has managed to pass into half guard.
It looks like Ellison is going to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ellison not landing any meaningful shots this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but JT Vacca will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vacca defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ellison. Vacca closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ellison is trying to stand back up but Vacca is controlling him
JT Vacca has got the better of the ground game so far. Ellison looking for submissions off his back. Ellison regains full guard. Nicely done. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ellison controls Vacca momentarily but Vacca frees himself. Vacca loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Vacca trying to control but Ellison is working from the bottom.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Ellison tries to clinch but Vacca is having none of it. Ellison tries to sprawl but Vacca drives through with a takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Ellison manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ellison working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vacca doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vacca manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ellison lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vacca looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ellison is one step ahead there. Ellison trying to stand up but can't free himself from Vacca's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vacca utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ellison is looking to stand up but Vacca won't let him. Ellison with a flurry of punches that miss. Vacca has a closed guard, preventing Ellison from standing up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Good leg kick by Ellison there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ellison tries to score a power double leg takedown but Vacca sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ellison somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ellison decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Vacca tries to roll over but Ellison keeps him under control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ellison is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A close second round but JT Vacca will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Ellison makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Vacca takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ellison wants to stand but Vacca has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ellison gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellison fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Vacca looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ellison can't get the takedown.

Ellison tries to score a body lock takedown but Vacca shows good agility there to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Leigh Ellison. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ellison goes for a takedown attempt but Vacca pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellison has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Vacca is trying to keep an underhook but Ellison manages to get the takedown into half guard. Vacca tries to roll over but Ellison keeps him under control. Ellison is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ellison is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vacca sees it coming and defends easily. Vacca gets full guard. JT Vacca is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vacca wants to sweep here but Ellison controlling him for the moment.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Ellison darts in looking for a takedown but Vacca gets double underhooks and turns Ellison into the cage. Ellison has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vacca avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Ellison has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Vacca regains guard immediately. Ellison throws a big elbow that misses. Leigh Ellison has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vacca looking for a sweep. Not yet Vacca, not yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Leigh Ellison showed his dominance in that final round. I think Vacca has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
