Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, aleksander hoydal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Johnson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Reed Andrews and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson just content to control the position. hoydal is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control. Johnson lands a decent elbow from side control. Johnson advances to mount. Johnson looking to control and managing it successfully. hoydal tries to lock up and control but Johnson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. hoydal is looking to improve his position but Johnson isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. BOOM! Johnson connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Johnson looking for a guillotine from mount but hoydal is having none of it. Johnson controlling the position easily from mount. hoydal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. hoydal is looking to get to half guard. Johnson controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson with the ground and pound from mount. hoydal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Johnson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. hoydal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. hoydal tries to hold on but Johnson postures up. hoydal is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. hoydal taking shots to the head. Johnson controlling from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
hoydal wants to hold on but Johnson pushes him away. Johnson looking to control and managing it successfully. hoydal is breathing heavily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. hoydal wants to control but Johnson is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Johnson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
hoydal gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Johnson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Johnson stops hoydal from standing up. Johnson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Johnson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on hoydal, up you get! hoydal misses with a takedown attempt and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. hoydal won't be happy with that. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. hoydal tries to buck Johnson off but Johnson is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. hoydal is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it. Johnson decides to stand back up. Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. hoydal sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Johnson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Johnson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. hoydal is looking to get back to full guard here but Johnson has managed to pass to side control instead. hoydal is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. hoydal keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson controlling from the full mount. Johnson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Despite being in the dominant position, Chris Johnson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but hoydal swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson throws a nice head kick!
hoydal tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. hoydal moves in looking to clinch but Johnson pushes him off. Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Johnson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chris Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

hoydal wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. hoydal wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
hoydal misses with a hook to the ribs.
hoydal is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Johnson pulls him back up using the underhooks. Johnson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Johnson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. hoydal trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Johnson manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! hoydal is working an open guard so Johnson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. hoydal has his takedown stuffed and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into side control. hoydal won't be happy with that. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. hoydal trying to remain calm as Johnson controls from the top position. hoydal is looking for a sweep. Johnson moves into full mount! hoydal keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. hoydal bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Johnson wants to sweep here but hoydal controlling him for the moment. Johnson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but hoydal frees his head nicely. Oh but Johnson has switched to an armbar! hoydal is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
