Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Max Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deven Watts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Watts's choice of entrance music: firefly. Deven Watts has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Max Kimura's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deven Watts!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura misses with a head kick.
Kimura misses with a hook. Watts ducked under it nicely.

and Watts counters with a one-two to the body.
Kimura gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kimura looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kimura wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Watts trying to land knees to the body.
Watts lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kimura is trying to break the clinch but Watts is controlling him.
Kimura tries to pull guard but Watts holds him up against the cage and eventually Kimura drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura tries to circle away but Watts has him pinned against the cage.
Kimura wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Watts has him pressed against the cage.
Watts's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kimura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Watts as he jumps to the side.

Watts throws a leg kick that misses.
Watts tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kimura swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Watts is looking to clinch but Kimura is avoiding it.
Watts closes the distance and clinches.
Kimura is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Watts has clasped his hands together around Kimura's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Kimura wants to control but Watts postures up.
Watts fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Kimura is trying to control Watts's posture but Watts avoids it.
Kimura is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Watts moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Watts decides to stand back up. Watts steps back and let's Kimura get back to his feet.
Kimura throws a head kick but Watts moves out of range.
Kimura really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kimura throws a combination that misses
and Watts counters with a straight right hand.
Watts misses with a leg kick.
Watts takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kimura's jab looks to have found its range, popping Watts under the eye.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Watts wants to break the clinch but can't.
We've been informed that Watts has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Watts goes for a takedown attempt but Kimura pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Watts keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kimura tries to clinch up
and Watts makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Watts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kimura defends well and Watts ends up having to push Kimura into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kimura tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Watts was well out of range. Poor timing from Kimura.
Watts blocks a head kick by Kimura.
And Watts tries to counter it with a takedown but Kimura pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Watts tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kimura defends well and Watts ends up having to push Kimura into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Max Kimura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Deven Watts.
Watts looks winded!
Kimura misses with a double jab
and Watts counters with a series of strikes. Kimura will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Watts showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kimura.
No luck for Kimura with that takedown attempt.
Kimura throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Watts is defended easily by Kimura.
Kimura swings for the body but Watts moves out of range.
Watts looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kimura is fending him off so far but Watts persists. Nope, Kimura circles away and we're back to standing.
Watts shoots in and drives through. Kimura sprawls well.
Kimura throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Watts.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Deven Watts will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Kimura connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Watts's hands.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Watts.
Watts is looking to clinch but Kimura is avoiding it.
Watts uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kimura.
Kimura scores with a push kick.
Kimura pushes Watts up against the cage in a clinch.
Kimura successfully pulls guard.
Kimura has his foot on Watts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Watts works his way back into a safe position though.
Kimura is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kimura has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Watts doesn't defend quickly enough and Kimura has managed to lock this one up! Can Watts escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kimura on a fantastic submission victory.
