Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papu Patwari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jon Sousa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Sousa ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Papu Patwari! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sousa gets the takedown into side control. Patwari is trying to control Sousa 's posture but Sousa avoids it. Sousa misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Patwari is not content to let Sousa control the position. Patwari is trying to control Sousa 's posture but Sousa avoids it. Sousa trying to control the action but Patwari is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Patwari is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sousa is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sousa taking a breather here. Patwari wants to control but Sousa postures up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Patwari darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Patwari is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Sousa is trying to control but can't.
Sousa gets full guard. Sousa looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Patwari won't allow Sousa to get back to his feet. Patwari trying to control the position from guard on top but Sousa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sousa has control of Patwari's left arm, preventing Patwari from doing any damage. Sousa looking for a sweep. Not yet Sousa , not yet. Sousa is working hard here to advance position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Patwari connects with an inside leg kick. Patwari scores with a body shot.
Sousa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Despite the aggression on Patwari's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Sousa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Patwari closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Patwari lands in his opponent's guard. Patwari trying to control but Sousa is working from the bottom. Sousa wants to get back to his feet but Patwari is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Sousa manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Patwari manages to get himself to full guard.
Sousa would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Patwari wants to sweep but no luck.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sousa trying to control but Patwari is working from the bottom. Patwari thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Patwari keeping full guard, as Sousa tries to pass. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sousa stopping the sweep attempt from Patwari. Patwari can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sousa controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jon Sousa will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Patwari waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sousa . Sousa throws a push kick but Patwari slaps the foot to one side. Patwari closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sousa 's guard. Patwari makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Patwari stands and steps away. Sousa gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Sousa closes the distance and clinches. Sousa wants the takedown. Patwari is fighting it off but Sousa persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Patwari's guard against the cage. Sousa makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Patwari throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Patwari working a defensive guard but Sousa manages to pass into side control anyway.
This has been an exciting period of action! Patwari is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sousa 's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Sousa ! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Patwari has tapped! This one is allllll over!
