Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Vasilyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hollis Bradbury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Sergey Vasilyev has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Sergey Vasilyev seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hollis Bradbury! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasilyev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bradbury as he avoids it easily. Vasilyev ducks under a wild hook from Bradbury. Sloppy strikes from Bradbury. Those never looked like landing. Bradbury swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bradbury swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Vasilyev ducks under a wild hook from Bradbury. Vasilyev showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bradbury.
Vasilyev changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Bradbury throws a right and a left that Vasilyev avoids nicely. Bradbury keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Bradbury throws a hook but Vasilyev avoids it easily. Bradbury avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasilyev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Bradbury misses with a looping left. Vasilyev attempts a counter takedown but Bradbury avoids it well and moves away. Vasilyev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Vasilyev content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Vasilyev is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bradbury defends it well. Bradbury is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vasilyev is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bradbury doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Vasilyev. Bradbury really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vasilyev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Vasilyev is keen to just control but Bradbury is a slippery customer. Vasilyev is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bradbury tries to hold on but Vasilyev pushes him away. Vasilyev trying to control but Bradbury is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasilyev has hold of Bradbury's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Bradbury manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Vasilyev trying to control but he's not successful this time. Vasilyev mounts Bradbury! Really nice guard pass there! Vasilyev wants to finish this one by submission but Bradbury is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vasilyev. Vasilyev moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bradbury has worked his arm free - good work by Bradbury!
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Vasilyev trying to control the position but Bradbury is working away. Vasilyev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vasilyev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Vasilyev working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bradbury is not content to let Vasilyev control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vasilyev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bradbury circles away. Bradbury scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Vasilyev misses with a takedown attempt - Bradbury sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A momentary lapse in concentration from Bradbury enables Vasilyev to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bradbury manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bradbury is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sergey Vasilyev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Vasilyev trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Vasilyev wants to control from the top but Bradbury keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vasilyev is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Bradbury is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Vasilyev is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Vasilyev shoots in and drives through. Bradbury sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergey Vasilyev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vasilyev uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bradbury.

Vasilyev shoots in and gets a takedown into Bradbury's guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bradbury can do anything to dispel that myth. Bradbury dips down and scores with a jab to the body. We've been informed that Bradbury has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Bradbury looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Vasilyev misses with an uppercut. Bradbury saw that one coming. Bradbury blocks a jab. Bradbury smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Vasilyev throws a shot from downtown. Bradbury moves away and avoids it. Bradbury will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vasilyev is defended easily by Bradbury. Vasilyev dives in and grabs Bradbury's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bradbury pushes down on Vasilyev's head and hops out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bradbury lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Vasilyev at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasilyev forces his way into half guard. Sergey Vasilyev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bradbury wants to improve his position but Vasilyev is controlling well.
Hollis Bradbury has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bradbury is defending against the submission attempts here by Vasilyev.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Vasilyev is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergey Vasilyev. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vasilyev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
