Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Casey Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Malek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Casey Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Malek!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green slaps away a takedown attempt from Malek, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Green keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Green shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Green missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Green thows a huge punch but Malek dodges it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Green looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Malek with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Green is nestled in close to Malek, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Malek makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Malek.
Green throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Green makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Malek looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Green throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Malek works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Green really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Green postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Green working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Malek's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Malek is on top in guard.

Malek is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Green knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Malek on the ground.

Malek would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Malek wants to control from the top but Green keeps moving.
Malek is fighting to break Green's control of his arms but Green is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Malek won't allow Green to sweep him here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Green holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Malek shoots in but Green avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Malek throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Green drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Green lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
John Malek has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Malek manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Malek wants to stand but Green has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Malek wants to free his trapped foot but Green is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Casey Green is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
