The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop fails with a takedown attempt.
Shaw throws a jab when Bishop was well out of range.
Shaw fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shaw tries a head kick but it misses.
Bishop tries to clinch up but Shaw circles away and keeps his distance.
Bishop is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shaw sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Shaw thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bishop changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Bishop gets a double leg takedown into Shaw's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bishop's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Bishop stands up over Shaw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bishop on the ground.
Bishop with a nice head shot there.
Bishop won't allow Shaw to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bishop chips away with some ground and pound.
Bishop postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bishop controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Shaw wants to stand and escape but Bishop is having none of it.

Bishop is in close to Shaw's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bishop's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Shaw being controlled here, momentarily.
Bishop content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Shaw wants to stand and escape but Bishop is having none of it.
Bishop is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bishop lands a couple of elbows.

Shaw is rocked!
Bishop gets to his feet and stands over Shaw, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Shaw felt that one! Bishop unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Shaw from any more punishment!
