Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terlajak Laris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Christian Kane! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane lunges at Laris with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Laris's hand. Laris on the wrong end of a nice jab. Kane throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Kane swats away the attempt to clinch by Laris. Laris is looking to clinch. Laris takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Christian Kane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Laris looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Laris has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA St Petersburg in the buildup to the fight. Kane scores with a punch to the head. Kane throws a right hand that Laris ducks under and follows up with a left that Laris also avoids with ease. Kane with a jab. Kane walks into a left hand. Laris drops his hands momentarily and Kane takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Nice sprawl there from Kane as Laris shoots in. Laris tries to clinch up. Kane lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kane connects with a nice looking jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Laris's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kane connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Laris scrambles back to his feet. Laris shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense. Kane scores with a jab. Kane scores with a sloppy right hand. Laris should have avoided that one. Kane is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Kane lands with a cross. Laris dives in and grabs Kane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kane pushes down on Laris's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terlajak Laris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Laris takes a body punch but keeps moving. Kane stalks Laris and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Laris's face. Laris staggers backwards, shaken. Laris really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Kane circles away from the clinch attempt.
Laris walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kane has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Laris tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kane paws at him with a jab and circles away. Kane's jab looks to have found its range, popping Laris under the eye. Kane is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Nice jab there from Kane. Christian Kane is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Laris closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Kane might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Kane lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Laris shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kane defends it nicely. Laris with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Kane to score with a decent uppercut. Kane listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Laris on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Nice jab there from Kane. Kane lands a nice shot that snaps Laris's head back.
Kane throws out a powerful jab. Kane connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Kane comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Laris shoots in looking for a takedown. Kane tries to sprawl out of it but Laris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Laris is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kane leaves Laris with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Nice jab there from Kane. Laris doesn't manage to clinch there - Kane circles away.
Laris walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Kane scores with a hook. Laris wants to clinch. Kane scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Laris doesn't seem bothered though. Laris shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kane as he avoids it easily. Kane is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kane darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Laris takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laris takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Kane jabs Laris right on the nose. Laris blinks but takes it well. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Kane works Laris's body with a nice hook. Kane works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kane scores with a punch to the head. Kane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kane connects with a jab. Kane scores with a decent looking hook. Kane lands a glancing blow to the side of Laris's head. A cross from Kane lands. Nice straight punches there by Kane. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Kane. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Laris takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kane scores with a jab to the head.
Nice sprawl there from Kane as Laris shoots in. Laris tries to close the distance and clinch but Kane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christian Kane dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Kane scores with the left hand. Laris knows he should have avoided that one. Laris is looking to clinch. A jab from Kane does it's job there. Kane has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Laris shoots in looking for a takedown. Kane tries to sprawl out of it but Laris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kane takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. This has been an exciting period of action! Kane lands a nice hook to Laris's body. Laris takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Kane moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Kane stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Kane lands a glancing blow to the side of Laris's head. Laris looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Laris moves forwards but Kane connects with a nice, crisp jab. Laris shoots in looking for a takedown but Kane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terlajak Laris. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kane lands a really nice looking cross but Laris seems unphased.
Kane cracks Laris with a right hand to the side of the head. Laris takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Laris is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Laris might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Laris walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Kane bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Laris's head backwards. Kane lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Laris walks into a stiff left hand from Kane. Laris tries for a takedown but Kane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Laris. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Kane connects with a good right hand that stumbles Laris. Laris circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Kane with a jab. Jab, jab by Kane - just one landing. Laris shoots in but Kane avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kane lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Kane scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Laris tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laris somewhat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good shot there by Kane. Kane scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kane connects with a right hand. Laris shakes it off. A right-left combo lands from Kane. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kane, as that shot connected.
Laris takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kane darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Kane shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Laris eats them both and turns towards Kane to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Kane works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Laris takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Kane scores with a hook to the body. Laris takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kane misses with the combination.

Christian Kane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Kane lands with a nice combination. Laris backs away looking to recover. Nice shot by Kane. A decent looking cross lands there for Kane. Kane circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kane slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Kane swats away the attempt to clinch by Laris. Kane tests Laris's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kane cracks Laris with a good jab. Kane just misses with a punch to the body.

and Laris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kane lands with a right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kane connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Laris momentarily.

Laris shoots in looking for a takedown but Kane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Laris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. A little jabbing left from Kane on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Kane lands with a right hand. Kane lands a jab to Laris's midsection. Kane lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kane clobbers Laris with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Christian Kane seems to be getting the better of the standup. This has been an exciting period of action! Kane's jab looks to have found its range, popping Laris under the eye. Laris takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Christian Kane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Still in the clinch, Kane scores with a nice short uppercut. Kane tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Laris tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Kane lands an uppercut. Terlajak Laris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Kane fails to land. Laris is trying to break the clinch but Kane is controlling him. Kane swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kane lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Kane lands a left hand.
Laris is trying to pull guard but Kane turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Laris misses with the head strike.
And that's the end of the fight! Christian Kane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
