The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbery moves forwards but Malvo connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Malvo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barbery did well to prevent Malvo getting side control.
Barbery wants to get back to his feet.

Malvo is trying to control the action in half guard but Barbery is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Malvo.

Malvo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Barbery throws a lazy right hand but Malvo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Malvo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Barbery moves away.
Barbery takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Malvo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Barbery has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Malvo connects with a leg kick. Barbery looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
