Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim Poutsi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esteban Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Scotty Doesn't Know. Tim Poutsi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Esteban Scott's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tim Poutsi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Esteban Scott! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poutsi throws a low kick but it's checked well by Scott. Nice shot by Poutsi. Scott dodges the punch combination from Poutsi.
Scott wants to counter with a clinch but Poutsi pushes him away. Poutsi avoids the head kick by Scott.
Poutsi feinted with a counter takedown. Poutsi digs a good body shot into Scott's ribs. Scott moves into the clinch. Scott is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Poutsi is defending well for now. Poutsi misses with a hook from the clinch. Stalling in the clinch from Poutsi.
Scott is trying to push Poutsi away but Poutsi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head punch blocked on the inside by Scott. Scott tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Poutsi misses with a punch to the body.
Poutsi lands a shoulder strike. Poutsi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Scott gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Poutsi throws a punch but it's blocked by Scott. A short right from Poutsi on the inside. A short left from Poutsi. A head punch on the inside from Poutsi fails to land. Poutsi lands a right hand that snaps the head of Scott backwards. Poutsi throws a head punch that misses. Scott breaks the clinch.
Scott keeps Poutsi at a distance using the push kick. A head kick misses from Scott. Poutsi is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Scott finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Tim Poutsi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good leg kick by Scott there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Scott throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A slapping body kick lands there for Scott. Scott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Poutsi pinned against the cage. Poutsi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poutsi shoots in for a takedown but Scott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Poutsi goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Scott scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Scott has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Poutsi doesn't manage to clinch there - Scott circles away.

Poutsi gets in close and instigates a clinch. Poutsi tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Scott's elbow. Scott wants a takedown.
Tim Poutsi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esteban Scott. Scott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Poutsi after a bit of a struggle. Poutsi can't find room to land a body shot as Scott controls the action.
Scott is trying to maintain a safe position but Poutsi gets an underhook and turns Scott into the cage. Scott blocking some punches.

Poutsi lands a couple of digs. Scott preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Poutsi slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Poutsi trying to control but Scott is working from the bottom. Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Poutsi is one step ahead there. Poutsi lands a couple of elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Poutsi is looking to work some ground and pound but Scott has wrist control. Scott looking for a sweep. Not yet Scott, not yet. Poutsi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Poutsi preventing the sweep. Scott keeping moving, preventing Poutsi from controlling successfully. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Scott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Poutsi is one step ahead there.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. No joy there for Poutsi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Scott lands a front kick. Poutsi thows a left - swing and a miss! Scott fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Poutsi checks it well. Scott throws a half hearted mid kick. Scott displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Poutsi throws out the jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tim Poutsi dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Scott with the counter takedown but Poutsi avoids it easily. Tim Poutsi is winning the standup battle so far. Poutsi throws a hook to the side of Scott's head but Scott sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Poutsi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Poutsi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Decent striking displayed by Scott there. Scott with a jab. Poutsi misses the jab. Poutsi walks into a left hand. Scott throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Scott showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Poutsi.
Scott misses with a low kick as Poutsi jumps back. Poutsi instigates a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Poutsi fails to land. Poutsi has picked Scott up - he's going for a ride! Poutsi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Poutsi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scott can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Scott looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Scott keeps trying to improve his position. Poutsi wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. Poutsi throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Poutsi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scott swivels though and keeps the full guard. Poutsi preventing the sweep. Scott is trying to control the position but Poutsi postures up. Scott lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Poutsi tries to land a sweep but no joy. That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. We've been hearing good reports from Poutsi's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Scott tries to free his leg and advance position but Poutsi is retaining full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Poutsi tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Scott manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Poutsi throws a hook to the side of Scott's head but Scott sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Good standup being displayed there by Scott as he connects with a hook. Scott lands a nice looking body kick. Poutsi misses the shot to the body. Poutsi instigates a clinch. Poutsi fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Poutsi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Scott backwards. Poutsi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Scott wants a takedown but no success here.

Scott works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Poutsi looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Scott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Poutsi works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott connects with a couple of short punches. Scott trying to control but Poutsi is working from the bottom. Poutsi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Poutsi can't keep his opponent in guard - Scott advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Esteban Scott will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Scott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Poutsi tries to clinch up but Scott circles away and keeps his distance. Nice takedown defense from Poutsi. No joy for Scott on that attempt. Scott scores with a sloppy right hand. Poutsi should have avoided that one. Poutsi clinches up against the cage. Scott is looking to control Poutsi's arms but Poutsi gets an underhook and turns him. Now Scott has his back to the cage. Poutsi with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Poutsi prevents a body shot from Scott. Scott blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Poutsi goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Poutsi lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. A short right hand to the side of the head by Scott. Scott blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Scott tries to work over Poutsi's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poutsi misses with a hook from the clinch. Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Poutsi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Poutsi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Scott looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Poutsi gets caught flat footed, as Scott shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Scott landing some decent shots from guard. Scott wants to control from the top but Poutsi keeps moving. Poutsi keeping full guard, as Scott tries to pass. Poutsi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Scott controls the pace. Scott landing some decent shots from guard.

Poutsi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Scott is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The fighters circle momentarily. Poutsi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Scott. Scott walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Poutsi wants to land a leg kick but Scott is out of range. Scott throws a lazy body kick and Poutsi counters with a solid body kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Poutsi misses with a hook. Scott ducked under it nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poutsi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Scott sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Poutsi somewhat. Scott changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Poutsi looks to land a combination but Scott avoids it well. A big left from Poutsi misses. Poutsi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Scott misses with a low kick as Poutsi jumps back. A big left from Poutsi misses. Scott feints the counter takedown. Scott misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A swing and a miss from Poutsi. Scott appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Poutsi closes the distance and pushes Scott back into the cage. Scott swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Scott is working for takedown but Poutsi is calmly controlling the position for now. Tim Poutsi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esteban Scott. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Poutsi. I think Poutsi has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
