PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ba Lil III (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldo Magetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Aldo Magetsu was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Ba Lil III!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aldo Magetsu!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lil III takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Magetsu takes one on the button.
Magetsu attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Magetsu stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lil III.
Lil III lands a nice hook to Magetsu's body. Magetsu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Magetsu's corner calls for a 1-2. Magetsu obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Lil III paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A bone on bone clash there as Magetsu blocks the leg kick.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Lil III closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Magetsu did well to prevent Lil III getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Lil III has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Magetsu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lil III tries to score a power double leg takedown but Magetsu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lil III somewhat.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lil III changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Magetsu tries to avoid it but Lil III manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Magetsu to the ground. Magetsu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
