Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Laban Ladvik! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sean Anderson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Ladvik has Anderson up against the cage in a clinch.
Anderson keeps control of Ladvik as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ladvik wants to get back to striking at distance but Anderson won't allow it.
Ladvik prevents the takedown attempt.
Ladvik jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Anderson walks away with a smile on his face. Ladvik gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ladvik appears to be looking for a counter takedown. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ladvik is defended easily by Anderson.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Ladvik misses. Ladvik throws a leg kick but Anderson moved away. Anderson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ladvik tries to avoid it but Anderson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ladvik to the ground. Ladvik escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Laban Ladvik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Anderson. Anderson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ladvik swats him away and circles back towards the center. Anderson shoots in for a takedown but Ladvik shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ladvik drops down looking for a counter takedown but Anderson sprawls and moves away. Anderson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ladvik manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ladvik will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ladvik lands a nice hook to Anderson's body. Anderson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Anderson has Ladvik up against the cage in a clinch.
Anderson tries to pull guard but Ladvik forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Anderson tries to score a body lock takedown but Ladvik shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Anderson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Anderson is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real. Anderson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ladvik sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Anderson looks for a takedown but Ladvik sprawls well. As Anderson tries to get set, Ladvik tries to push him back and clinch up but Anderson manages to avoid the attempt. Anderson looks for a takedown but Ladvik sprawls well. Ladvik half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Anderson lands a high kick!

Ladvik uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Anderson tries for a takedown but Ladvik sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Laban Ladvik is winning the standup battle so far. Ladvik lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Ladvik misses the shot to the body. Nice takedown defense from Anderson. No joy for Ladvik on that attempt. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ladvik is trying to pull guard but Anderson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Anderson jumps guard and drags Ladvik to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Ladvik throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ladvik throws an elbow that misses. Anderson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ladvik's guard. Nice move by Anderson! Ladvik is trying to keep Anderson in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ladvik being controlled here, momentarily. Anderson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Anderson stands up and waves to Ladvik to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Sean Anderson will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

I was talking to Ladvik's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Anderson keeps control of Ladvik as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. The referee is keeping an eye on Anderson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Anderson fails with the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ladvik just misses with a punch to the body.
