Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jari Koivusalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jari Koivusalo is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jari Koivusalo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Standa! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koivusalo dodges the punch combination from Standa.
Koivusalo drops his hands momentarily and Standa takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Standa gets caught flat footed, as Koivusalo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Koivusalo stopping the sweep attempt from Standa. Koivusalo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Standa is keeping the position for now. Standa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Koivusalo is looking to stand up but Standa won't let him. Standa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Koivusalo wants to get up but he can't break Standa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Standa trying to control the position here. Standa wants to improve his position but instead Koivusalo has moved into half guard.
Standa is refusing to be controlled, as Koivusalo sits in half guard. Standa avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Koivusalo. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Standa wants to improve his position but Koivusalo is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Standa is trying to control but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Standa tries to clinch there but Koivusalo circles away.
Standa throws a series of punches but Koivusalo moves out of range. Koivusalo slips a jab from Standa. Koivusalo lands with a slapping head kick. Standa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Koivusalo sprawls well initially but Standa persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Koivusalo is looking to improve his position.
Standa looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Standa stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Koivusalo to get to his feet. Koivusalo darts in and clinches Standa up against the cage. Koivusalo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Standa fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Koivusalo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Koivusalo misses with a takedown attempt and Standa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Koivusalo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Standa! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Standa bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Standa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Standa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Standa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Koivusalo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Standa wants to stand and escape but instead Koivusalo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Koivusalo is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Koivusalo trying to control the position from guard on top but Standa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Standa dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Koivusalo lands with a nice combination. Standa backs away looking to recover. Koivusalo gets the takedown into side control. Koivusalo trying to control the position but Standa is working away. Standa is trying to get back to half guard. Standa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Koivusalo prevents Standa from improving his position. Standa wants to control but Koivusalo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Standa wants to get back to his feet. Standa is staying active underneath Koivusalo, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Standa is trying to maintain the position but Koivusalo is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Koivusalo misses with a takedown and Standa counters with a one-two to the body. Koivusalo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Standa to the mat! Standa manages to get full guard. Standa keeping moving, preventing Koivusalo from controlling successfully. Standa controls Koivusalo momentarily but Koivusalo frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Standa looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Koivusalo puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Well, if Koivusalo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Standa trying to hold on to Koivusalo's head to control him but Koivusalo postures up.
Standa wants to control the action here but instead Koivusalo manages to pass to full mount! Koivusalo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Standa's face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koivusalo working the ground and pound effectively.
Koivusalo tries to control but Standa wriggling away. Standa is in all sorts of trouble here.
Standa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Standa wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Koivusalo is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. A lull in the action here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Can Standa hold on?! Koivusalo is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Koivusalo has good solid back control here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jari Koivusalo dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Koivusalo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Koivusalo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Standa. Koivusalo scores with a nice body kick.
Koivusalo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Standa falls off balance throwing a combination
and Koivusalo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Koivusalo changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Standa fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Koivusalo stops Standa from standing up. Jari Koivusalo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Standa is trying to stand and escape. In the scramble, Koivusalo has locked hold of an arm and he's managed to lock on an armbar - Standa taps out instantly and this one is all over!
