Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Melvin Manhoef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanly Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Manhoef might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Prodigy - Take Me To The Hospital . Williams is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kenny Loggins - I'm free. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Melvin Manhoef!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanly Williams !
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manhoef throws a leg kick that is checked
and Williams connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Williams throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Manhoef tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Williams is in Manhoef's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Williams has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

The referee calls for Manhoef to work.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Williams tries for a takedown but Manhoef sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Manhoef throws a hook but Williams blocks it.
Williams drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Williams shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Manhoef pinned against the cage. Manhoef gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A nice inside leg kick there by Manhoef. That's going to slow Williams down.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Manhoef crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Williams - the referee stops the clock and Manhoef gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Williams . Manhoef manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Manhoef lands a nice hook to Williams 's body. Williams takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Manhoef tried to score with a low kick but Williams checks it.
Williams chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Manhoef can pounce on him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Melvin Manhoef!
Melvin Manhoef opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
